I doubt they will leave the mid west.Pryce Sandfordt
Owen Freeman
Brock Harding
Actually not surprising at all. Players often bolt when their coach gets the boot.Surprising . . .
I’m jokingActually not surprising at all. Players often bolt when their coach gets the boot.
Schooled Cliff as a freshman. Let’s bring him. And Sandfort.I would love to add Freeman.
Me thinks you have the wrong Sandfort ... It would be PAYTON you'd want, not Pryce.Would love Sandfort if we knew how to run action for him.
You’re right, good callMe thinks you have the wrong Sandfort ... It would be PAYTON you'd want, not Pryce.
Freeman has a lot fo skills - but not a great defensive player. I am not saying I would not be happy with a player of his skills, but he is not the rim protector/defender RU really needs in the post for Pikiell's defense.
The price tags for Power 4 starters who can help, is 1M to 2.5M.....keep that in mind when RU fans are under the impression Pike has to get 4 impact players LMAO. As if RU is spending 8 to 10M in the portal for hoops AND another 4 to 5M for 2026 HS recruiting wins of Top 20 to 100 type kids.
Amazing that people still don't understand that. As Richie and Mike said on the podcast, we're not getting transfers from high majors. These guys will be going to big programs and will get paid. Our targets will be coming from the low major conferences 🤷♂️
An impact starting caliber player from a Power 4 is absolutely starting at 1M....not sure what players you are thinking about.Very few are making over 1.5 million so the 2.5 million number quoted is wrong
you said players are making 1.5-2.5 million...there is a small group of players maybe a dozen..maybe even up to 20 making in this range. An impact starting caliber player from a Power 4 is absolutely starting at 1M....not sure what players you are thinking about.
The path to winning is accumulating HS recruits and finding 1 portal player per cycle. Maybe 2 at the most.
Has anyone asked the repercussions of failures like that impacting future NIL giving...we see the success stories but when people drop coin and get nothing in return its going to have an impact going foward.
people dont have endless money.....whales do....and that is how nil is going to be paid for. There will be zero repercussions.
How many Villanova boosters contributed to their HCs salary or roster and got nothing in return?
Are they pulling their money?
Doubt it.
"Hope springs eternal"
But if impact starting players are getting 1M+ - doesn't it stand to reason that any freshman player that develops into that caliber player will then be expecting his 1M+? So we bring in freshman (Lathan or Grant, for example); develop them to where they are impact B1G starter level; and then we fork over the $ to keep them, or they leave and we are left with a new bunch of undeveloped players and/or portal lottery tickets. An impact starting caliber player from a Power 4 is absolutely starting at 1M....not sure what players you are thinking about.

Exactly. No question a coach making $500k could have gotten us to 15-17 this year. How long 'til athletic directors decide they'll do better with a $500K/year coach and an extra $5mil in NIL than any $5.5mil/year coach?
Or a rushed, off-balance 2-pointer from a bad angleAre any of them good at passing the ball around the perimeter for 20 seconds then taking a contested 3 pointer? Because that is Pike's offense.
I do not believe these figures until i see something credibleAnd that coat is going to go up with every school offering additonal rev share money.
If Rutgers doesnt have the money for transfer Power 4 starters who can help what makes you think Rutgers will be able to retain their own Power 4 starters who can help?
Plus spending $4-5m on freshman who can barely help.
That will then cost $1m-$2m when they the next year.
Both tactics are wrong:
- Recruit and retain HC players
- Multiple P4 impact transfers
The lack of good screening would render him completely ineffective.Sandfort would be good.

Why are you comparing this to professionalHow many other sports have HC as the highest paid person?
Nearly every other sport allocates more money towards players than coaches.
Creighton or MichiganFreeman is already spoken for. Has a no contact next to his name. He knows where he is headed. Think Kansas, Auburn money schools
Like GS?? We act like Greg is raiding Georgia and Alabama for players w a war chest of cash!people dont have endless money.....whales do....and that is how nil is going to be paid for.
its up to Pike to make his pitch like GS did.
