First of all, I’m back.
Second of all, wish you would step off from that ledge my friends!! It was a WTF win, NOT a WTF loss. It’s actually a positive - Pike won’t let them forget this. Learn and move on.
Third, Williams still needs to come off the bench. Instant offense.
Fourth, the team is still gelling. People are very rough on Mensah and Baker, but they will come around.
Fifth, GORU!!!

Oh—and Kentucky with all their talent only beat Vermont by four.

Baker was aggressive and at least hit his FT's. Think he will be fine. Mensah passed up some wide open looks, never looks for his shot.

With parity as high as ever in college basketball, any win is a good win. For those who are ready to freak about today, just remember..this is the same team that struggled vs Hartford but scared the shit out of Wisconsin. One performance does not dictate how you will play against better teams.

Also keep telling yourself..Indiana lost to Indiana state. No win is an easy win.

Good signs are Eugene had a solid game off the bench and Baker has not had his best game, which as a freshman will be a little up and down....Williams being closer to 90% or better is a great sign.

Teams play to the level of their competition at times and it's tough to hear how much a team isn't on your level and they treat the game like Game 7....goals for this year are to improve and get the underclassmen involved so we have some returning scoring and experience for 2018-19, while adding some wins along the way and getting over .500....

All I know is, we went 1-0 today.

Hopefully, the team will go 1-0 again this Tuesday against Cleveland State.

all of that is fine, but Corey has not shown any shot improvement and Deshawn still getting out of control near the basket with the spin stuff.

Mike, Issa, Eugene showing me off season step forward.
Defense off the dribble and defending the key not so good.
Shooting/finishing under the basket remains poor.

Missing Nigel and CJ right now. Chemistry needs lots of work. Squandered a 15pt lead with like 7 mins to go with bonehead plays.

Hope Pike runs their butts off this week. Williams doesn't play due to the injury, we lose today.

Practice over the next couple days will be not easy for the players. Pike has the ammunition he needs without the embarrassing loss to go with it.

When we went up by 15 it was our intensity (especially on D) and the guys just let down at the end. No excuses for this...but they did play down to the competition thinking the outcome was really never in jeopardy. I expect the coaches will be after them tomorrow and expect better play on Tuesday. Yes, we can all calm down!!

Coaches will be all over this team with the mental focus rather than what they are doing wrong on the court..thats where the issue was today. I expect a much diffferent type of game and intenstiy vs Cleveland St.

I believe the CCNY game was a huge factor in why this team played so poorly today...game gave this team false bravado for no reason

Watching RU and college basketball for more than 30 years, I’ve learned never to read too much into unusually close WINS against inferior competition early in the season. They are a good teaching tool for the coaching staff and often nothing more.

P.s. - thank God for Mike Williams Today.

Talented but young. They'll get better as a result of the game against a very good Vermont team who returned nine guys from a team that won 21 games in a row and made the NCAA Tournament last season. You don't get better against Popcorn State but Kentucky will get better off of this game.

First, the negative.
Disappointed in Souf so far; anyway. Hoped he would be a lot better but I’m concerned.
Freeman still takes shots he shouldn’t take
Sa is still Sa- just doesn’t finish.

I’m not worried about Geo. Mike is on a mission and Corey will get it done this year. Biggest issue is We are missing the post game we had with CJ last year. Hoping to see Doucoure as that guy but not yet. Maybe Shaq comes around as well but right now it seem like a lot of outside shots that aren’t falling. Not sure what to make of Johnson redshirting? I thought his presence would help but I guess he’s not ready? Is he not a Big ten player?
