What type of hit do you think Rutgers recruiting took because of the Rice scandal? I think that it is at least a 3 year hit because the guys being recruited now were in the 9th or 10th grade when they saw the tapes and read all the negative press.

Keep in mind, recruits were not busting down the door prior to Rice turning the program into the laughingstock of college basketball just 2 years ago.

The coach and recruiters need to get guys that want to be here to take on the challenge and uncover some gems like the coaches in the football program.
I really don't know. I already forget things, but I believe Rice being fired late and Jordan being hired late in coaching carousel time really hurt. Mike Rice shows at RU you need to make a splash quickly because vision gets placed by reality once games get played.

I definitely think the coach every 4 years is VERY damaging.

My issues have never been about results with Jordan. I just see things on the court that befound me. Defensive intensity is disgusting. I just can't see how any coach would put up with it.

We can't question the coach? Seriously?

I can remember back in the late 80s saying it was unfair to judge Craig Littlepage because he didn't have "his players' yet.

No, I am not making the comparison. I'm just saying you can judge based on what you see, knowing the report card overall remains incomplete.

More statements from Patrick school coach, let's hope this isn't true, Danny Hurley? 15 years ago? Lol

"When Isaiah Briscoe was considering going to St. John's he started recruiting Dupree McBrayer to go with him," he said. "I have not heard from a St. John's coach in four years. The last time I heard from Rutgers was when Danny Hurley was there. I've recently heard from NBA GMs regarding Deandre Bembry [of St. Joe's] more than I heard from both of those schools. Jersey has great high school basketball, yet hardly any of our kids are staying home."

We all know this, but no one is staying home because all the d1 programs in new jersey are lackluster at best besides...njit..

Create winners and they will gladly stay. Right now we have no shot.
