Carino: Mike Williams is a leader

I am so guardedly optimistic about this team. I don't think I can handle another heartbreak.

I mean how we could not feel good about this team and coaching staff? I am quietly confident that we are going to climb ourselves out of the B1G basement this season. Don't believe me, just watch and enjoy this season.

Mike plays with so much heart and determination. A top rebounding guard in the BIG and seeing him every game last year I was amazed at times how he came out with the ball among the bigs !!! I'm really proud Mike is on our team and look forward to his senior leadership this year. He is great model for his teammates.

Mike exemplifies everything that is right with Rutgers Basketball these days....

Can't root for him hard enough!

When Mike came to Rutgers he had the reputation as a shooter. To Mike's credit even though he hasn't shot a high percentage (Yet), he has done everything else to help the team. He became my favorite player on this team for doing just that.

Here is hoping Mike gets hot from the floor his senior year and continues to do all the other things that makes him a fav.

Love this kid. How close to 1000 points?

He's at 886 right now. He'll very likely hit 1000 in the first half of the season.

He averaged 10.1 ppg in the OOC schedule last year. He'll probably get it somewhere between MSU (12.7 ppg through 9 games) and SHU (8.8 ppg through 13 games).

Good for Mike, getting the recognition he deserves because of the effort he gives trying to help RU win the game.

If all 5 guys on the court gave the kind of effort Mike gives, we'd win every game. His ucanny ability to rebound, at his size, is a marvel to watch.

I'm amazed that Mike's chest can contain the huge heart that he plays with

Every once in a while, a special player comes along who , while not the best player on the team, does all of the things a leader should do and becomes a legend in the process

Mike is that player

Mike is such an outstanding example of what RU basketball stands for. I love it when he grabs a rebound among the big trees. I sure hope he has an outstanding senior season and the team can reward him with a post season tournament. He deserves so much credit for sticking with our team. He will do well in the real world.

When my daughter comes with me who plays youth basketball, I always tell her to spend at least few minutes of the game watching him only, not the ball.

If we're going to take a step forward this year we can be sure that Mike will be a big part of that.

We've got some experience on this team and we need it to show up every game this season.

Does he start this year or is he still more valuable off the bench?

Probably depends on what Geo can handle. But whether he starts or not Williams will be in the game at crunch time down the stretch.

You know what this is stupid but glad they did the car pool karaoke. You got to see a good glimpse into his personality as well. He's a funny dude too glad he stayed....lead away Mike the others will follow

I can absolutely see Mike being a coach...he reminds me a lot of Coach Knight actually in that regard.

He's going to play ball somewhere for a while though!
