Carino's article on game

"It’s only an exhibition game. Coaches experiment with lineups and tend to hold back from running the full playbook. Let’s get that out of the way first."

What a way to start.

I am pretty sure every game you are playing, you want to win.

Should edit the caption of the first picture of the article. I mean You can read Doorson’s name for crying out loud.

I really like the physical play of Freeman/Eugene in the game at the same time during the last 8 min or so. I guess Eugene playing the 5 but those (2) guys really helped secure the win down the stretch. Freeman is playing is so much toughness and will be a big scorer for us this year. Good to see overall we will be physical team this year but we need to get Duke straightened out with the fouling issues.

This scrimmage against St.Johns was as exciting as any league game because it was a battle from the opening tip. Both teams exploited the weaknesses of the opponent .St.Johns was unstoppable with dribble drives to the basket and Rutgers got double digit scoring from Williams,Sanders and Freeman.Wlliams injury was a downer and hopefully he makes a quick recovery. The Rutgers team was resilient because there were moments in the second half where St.Johns had a double digit lead but Rutgers quickly responded with a scoring spurt.Foul shooting was critical in the last five minutes of the game.

With you there. Omoyuri might not fill up the stat sheet, but his energy, and physicality was definitely there. His focus on defense, etc.

Good for him for putting in so much work. Again, some players yesterday will not show up on the stat sheet.

Sanders was clutch when they needed him to be at a crucial time in the game. Thiam had rebounds in critical moments of the game. He only recorded 2-3 for the day, but they were turning points.
