Don't know why Eli coming back is even a topic of discussion. While many don't want him back, there is no inkling that he has any desire to come back. Much like any graduate transfer with options, with all due respect, what is to be gained by coming to Rutgers? No inside info, but can't imagine Eli would consider Rutgers anymore than people wouldn't want him back.
Now as far as his ability, anyone who watched him play this year (I watched almost every game) realizes that his game has drastically matured, but unfortunately regressed due to the injury. He hasn't been the same since the broken leg. He has had to utilize a more crafty repertoire, but any shred of athleticism is really gone. Its a shame. He was a stud at Rutgers as a freshman and sophomore. Definitely liked to shoot, and was streaky...but by all accounts was a coachable player, well-liked by teammates who stayed outnf any type of off the court trouble. He also single handedly gave Rutgers one of theirnbest basketball moments in 30 years with that overtime win over a nationally ranked UF team before a hyped up crowd in Rosario's return. Even at say 75% of what he used to be he would still have been a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over Bishop Daniels, Mike Williams, Okoro or anything else aside from Mack we trotted out at guard this year.
