Chas Dodd Back to Rutgers As Asst Strength And Conditioning Coach

Edsall 1.0 took a Yankee Conference/FSC team up to a legit FBS school. Where I think he falls short is taking a FBS school up another level to a Power 5 school. And for all the complaints about RU providing insufficient support, Schiano 2.0 has had a hell of a lot more support and funding than what Edsall 2.0 gets from UConn where he walked into Ash level disaster.
UConn a ”legit” FBS school? Hardly. The one real bowl they played in they looked anything but legit. It was literally a joke to the entire CFB world. Pretty sure it’s what broke up the BCS, so they have that going for them.

The past 3 years, he’s had 6 wins. FBS wins: Tempe, Tulsa, Umass (note, these 3 killers had a total of 10 wins)
The other 3: Holy Cross, Rhode Island, Wagner
And all those awesome wins were by ONE SCORE.

That is Ash/epic level bad.

He is 30+ games under .500 for his career. He is what his record says he is - a crappy head coach.

He did a decent to good job during his first stint at Uconn. Since then he has been awful.

Mdh, I didn’t realize he was that bad ! Yikes ! After him, it will be interesting to see what kind of money they can pay their next coach. Connecticut is not much of a football State. Who can they get to go that program?

And with an equivalent amount of institutional support and the same kind of mess inherited, Schiano would be putting up goose eggs in version 2.0 in the Big 10 and equivalent numbers in the AAC. Goose eggs except for the number of blow outs, that is. But he had the ability to hold out for more and wisely did. "Real bowl"? How many of those did RU play in?

This is about Randy Dandy.

Career 30+ games under .500 is pretty bad for a coach. He’s a bad coach.

Chas will be a good coach. Many of the best coaches were players who had to learn how to make the best out of modest skills. Upcoaching 2 stars is needed these days.

One of my favorite Rutgers players. I had the company Suite at the Pinstripe Bowl against Iowa State and watched him throw up the 86 yard bomb to Brandon Coleman right in front of the sideline we were on.

A great edition....Chas knows about hard work.... he can teach players the importance of learning fundamental skills, good nutrition habits, and conditioning.
