Cheapskates better not sell out again for PSU

Ok. I'm a reasonable man.. ( don't ask my wife though)

But I bet in years when we win it will still be the same because our fans are cheapskates and PSU and UM fans will buy their one local game.
( Ha, just moving the debate goal posts).
Johnny out.
Nah.

Here is the message from you. People who put on stubhub aren’t “trying to sell to opposing teams”.

You basically just admitted that was false.

Sure, fans who put on stubhub know the risk ot other fanbases buying. That risk would be much less if we put a better product on the field.

Taking the deliberate risk is the same thing.

You can eat the tickets. You can sell them on this board or elsewhere.

The RU Football Facebook group has multiple requests for tickets every day.

Putting them on SH shows a deliberate disregard.

I don't care if the team has zero wins or is undefeated. We all owe it to the players to not do things that could put opposing fans in control of one side of the stadium.

If we're both having a good season they will sell anyway.

It's clear we have real fans who don't sell, and fake "fans" who see tickets like they would a plot of land or stock to be sold for profit.

How is it clear?? How do you know seats sold in a section are from Rutgers fans, a corporation or Rutgers itself. You just love bashing all Rutgers fans.

Certainly a risk worth taking.

As you said a few pages back, you wanna see a stadium packed with RU fans. Now you want me to eat the tickets?? You’re AAAAALLLLLL over the place, dude.

Not sure how we’d get a packed stadium with people eating their tickets like you want…….

Exactly! A perfect example someone trying to sell to very few people who know about it. TKR has a hidden forum and another link for SeatGeek. The ticket forum is also a mess. It has basketball and football in the same thread. Rarely people remove their posts after they have sold their tickets. Some very odd requests for ticket/parking.
I have no clue what Facebook thread he his talking about. There are many Rutgers Football pages on Facebook. Also neither stop opposing fans from buying.
StubHub is very easy to post, transfer and get paid. TKR and Facebook besides a lot less people going to the sites also aren't set up for the seamless transaction and no guarantees to the buyer.

If you can't sell them to Rutgers fans. Do you read the English language?

Though I do appreciate your admission that you're not a fan. See that wasn't hard- the $200 is all that matters.

Idk if this is allowed- so, it's a group called "Rutgers Football" in all caps...there's definitely overlap with this board. And I have seen multiple posts there of people looking for tix over the last few days. The group mod only allows RU fans and blocked a bunch of Cult fans looking to join.

Though I guess the good news for Cult fans is that we have non-fan season ticket holders who just really need the money...

Stop with the personal shots, dude. C’mon.

I’m a huge fan. 18 year STH. And no, much more matters in life than money. Enjoy the weekend!

Interesting.

My neighbor recently offered to buy my basketball tickets if I wasn't going to a sold-out basketball game. I told him I planned to use my tickets, and suggested that he look for tickets on StubHub. (I also offered to carpool with him, so he didn't need to get a parking pass.)

I guess I shouldn't have suggested that he buy from StubHub, since people who sell their Rutgers tickets on StubHub are evil.

What advice do you have for him to buy tickets?

He doesn't post on this board, so he can't easily respond to posts on the ticket board here. Even if he could, it isn't that easy to find and buy tickets here. You have to contact the seller via text or email (since you can't send a private message here unless you have a premium subscription), then negotiate the price, then figure out how you are going to pay. And there is certainly the risk that you pay and never receive the tickets. Aside from all that, there just aren't a lot of basketball tickets posted here.

I looked to see if there was a Rutgers Basketball group on Facebook similar to the football group you mentioned. There seem to be about half-a-dozen Rutgers Basketball groups. Most are private, so I can't see if they sell tickets or not. But my neighbor would have to sign up for multiple Rutgers Basketball groups and then jump through all the hoops needed to buy tickets from this board. Plus I assume the risk of paying for tickets and not receiving them is even higher on Facebook.

Buying the tickets off StubHub is so much easier. There are hundreds of tickets listed for the game he wants to go to. He can look through the list of tickets, select the section and row that most appeals to him, pay by credit card, and get the tickets with essentially no risk. The whole thing would take maybe 5 minutes. But now that we know StubHub sellers are satanic, he doesn't want to buy basketball tickets there. But he does value speed, convenience, and avoiding being scammed. What are his more angelic alternatives?

I got an email from a former colleague this past Monday, a PSU grad and rabid fan, and cheapskate. He wrote hoping that someone in my group had an extra ticket. I told him that we do, but we have an agreement among us never to offer it to a fan of the opposing team. In fact, I let him know that we have called it our "pedophile (supporter) free zone". Even though the rule applies to all our opponents, we named it after his school.

Pretty sure for that one we should all offer a drink to @GSGS and his crew if they show up to your tailgate.🍻

Look, I'm not arguing but just answering your question. Sk.com provides even more ..you can pick your exact seat and get all those other benefits you describe with no upcharge but perhaps a $2 fee. But cost on SH could very well be cheaper depending on game and timing.

LOL. When the bball team was bad there was an infamous game where Cuse fans were alleged to have taken over the RAC. These days, it's a little different but I am sure against a team like SHU it would be super popular to put tickets on StubHub.

You're comparing RU fans buying to RU "fans" listing for games they know a ton of opposing fans are scouting for.

Have you listed your tickets yet? With the sellout you can make some big coin!

Nope. No need to. I can make the game this week and was able to find takers for extras. However As I said earlier in the thread bringing my PSU alum cousin

Tailgate at noon, football weather, life is good. Enjoy the game!

RU fans buying tickets on StubHub and RU fans selling tickets on StubHub are part of the same transaction.

My neighbor can't buy a ticket to the Rutgers-Indiana basketball game unless someone is selling the ticket. The game is sold out, so the only option to buy a ticket is the secondary market. And as I indicated above, the options you suggested, this forum and Facebook, might work for a handful of people, but are not a realistic way for most people to buy and sell tickets. StubHub remains my neighbor's best and easiest option to buy a ticket for the Rutgers-Indiana game.

Granted there are a lot of Rutgers fans looking for tickets to that game. But there are also a lot of Indiana fans looking for tickets to that game. Someone selling a ticket on StubHub has no way of knowing if the buyer is my neighbor or another Rutgers fan or an Indiana fan. Everyone has an equal opportunity to buy a listed ticket.

All things being equal, you would expect the proportion of tickets sold to Rutgers and Indiana fans to roughly approximate the proportion of Rutgers and Indiana fans looking for tickets. For program that shows success, that means a larger proportion of Rutgers fans. For a program that is struggling, that means a smaller proportion of Rutgers fans.

But that is a function of program success and demand, not a function of who is selling tickets. And the person selling the Rutgers-Indiana basketball ticket still has no way of knowing who will buy the ticket.

There is an implicit moral difference IMO understanding that for a game like last Saturday or Michigan that by listing on StubHub you may end up selling to opposing fan. The risk of selling to a IU fan is much lower.

Some transactions may be more moral or justified on one end than the other.
