But you have said it is all about the money. So why did he accept over one-half million dollars less?
Is it really half million less when factoring taxes and cost of living in Alabama? But you have said it is all about the money. So why did he accept over one-half million dollars less?
good point- probably more, depending on the state that offered him $2M. But cost of living- don't players get free housing and meals as "students?"Is it really half million less when factoring taxes and cost of living in Alabama?
Yes true.good point- probably more, depending on the state that offered him $2M. But cost of living- don't players get free housing and meals as "students?"
These valuations are insane.
Good for the players.
But just so odd that adults are over funding their hobby. I’m all for donations for buildings facilities scholarships etc because at least those are targets and tangible things. Now we’re just bribing with no end in sight. And yes I also think the coaches salaries (and terms) have also long been out of control in “bubble” like fashion.
I contrite to KTR and all but you had Villanova alumni at Ridgewood country club tonight paying $4k+ for a round of golf and then throwing thousands more on auction items.

right..and who knows, maybe the other suitor is also a low tax state. it does seem like he took a lower offer, probably based on anticipated role and fit.good point- probably more, depending on the state that offered him $2M. However, bribing or paying players to play leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. As fans, we buy tickets, we contribute to facility funds, but now we have to pay the players' exorbitant salaries in order for them to play? NIL has turned into a disaster. There are about 800 billionaires in the US. Lets say you were an older Multi Billionaire who already donates a substantial sum to good causes but wanted to see your alma mater or local team win a championship before you kick off. What's a couple extra million dollars to you? Some programs are lucky to have ultra rich benefactors.

What better way to donate than to buy a player that wins games ? You can see tangible results as opposed to a weight roomHowever, bribing or paying players to play leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. Me thinks the disaster is only just beginning. However, bribing or paying players to play leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. As fans, we buy tickets, we contribute to facility funds, but now we have to pay the players' exorbitant salaries in order for them to play? NIL has turned into a disaster.
Possibly, but the next mega billionaire from another school's NIL will try and swoop in with more $$. NIL deals will get sillier and sillier going forward without any form of regulation. The point I was making however was that if an older RU superfan was uber rich.....say net worth in the billions.....I could easily see that person throwing a million into the NIL pot to secure a high end center for RU this season given the promise of the roster.
