Not to dwell on the skill set of Laviano. He didn't bring the A game but he was aligned against the consensus No. 1 school in the country. The QB's were reportedly even in the summer. The season and a bowl are now on the line. Why not give Rettig his shot now?

The season is a wash. See what you have. Take a risk for once. Just let Rettig play. He let Dodd play the last three games of the year in 2013. Granted Nova was playing very poorly. Laviano is good, but find out what you have. I truly believe Rettig will transfer to FCS if he can play right away. I don't know the rules, so excuse me if I'm wrong there
