The conversation boils down to this: What if a 6-0 team impacted by COVID-19 has to be compared to a 9-2 team able to play its full schedule?

It could get more complicated. What if that 6-0 team is Alabama, and it's not eligible because policy sets the minimum for eligibility at seven games?

This will be a way bigger problem for the B1G...

Its going to come down to the eye test. Subjective but there it is kinda like the first year when OSU jumped the B12 teams. Will be interesting if we get no unbeatens and five or six one loss teams.

Too bad, they knew this would be a possibility for any conference that played.

If they need some smart people to help figure it out I will be available to guide them...lol.

The CFP, the bowls, and just about everyone will have to recognize there's a strong likelihood that many of their (non-BIG) favorites may not be able to play more than 7 or 8 games. Some schools may have outbreaks themselves and have to cancel games, while some schools may be on the other end of that equation (people keep cancelling on them). Unless they want to start playing some December football - like we are - they're not going to be able to play enough games and have the requisite number of wins.
