Hope Eddie is planning to recruit another point guard also, sounds like Corey plans on going pro after 1 or 2 years. Skip to around the 2:40 mark in the video to see conversation with his grandmother and him.

Hopefully he has that successful of a stint at RU to go pro early.

It's always good to have lofty aspirations . But high school basketball Stars need to be told early on that their chances of playing in the NBA are minuscule and likely will never happen. Especially guards who are a dime a dozen. Not to mention the NBA now scouts and drafts internationally so the talent pool is huge

I hope Sanders is awesome of course and is a 1st rounder.

This whole series from him is interesting, I've honestly never seen a recruit do a whole series of videos like this.

Nothing could be better for RU bball than for Sanders to be a lottery pick after two years on the Banks. Think about it.

I will be ecstatic if Corey Sanders gets drafted into the NBA after 2 seasons at RU. That is exactly the selling point we need to bring in more recruits.

We may not have him for 4 years, but that's the seed that grows this thing.

Sanders is pretty good at self promotion. I'm convinced that's why he decided to play near the media capital of the world. Imagine the NYC press if comes in and tears it up at Rutgers... the way Russell did it with OSU. He is that talented and has the personality that the press will love .

In the tape......I loved it when he talked about the stats he expected in the game he was playing that night....... about 17pts, 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. He said his role as point is to run the show, make sure everybody is where they are supposed to be. He also said he LOVES to play clamp down D.

Highly doubt he leaves early to go pro from this team. Transferring to another program is another story.

What ??

Rutgers has never had a guy this talented coming in... of all the transfers only D. Jones went to the next level. Rosario was a McDonald's All American but did not tear it up at Florida. Corey Sanders is way more talented than Rosario. Carter will probably have a long career overseas. Biruta may play in Russia. Ech could probably play in South America, if they have PRO teams.

Mack will play overseas as well... but, he was not a transfer. :.

What are you basing this off of?

Name a player that showed more talent than Sanders coming into their first year at Rutgers in the last 20-25 years?

Rosario was the highest ranked incoming player in Rutgers history. He is not as talented as Sanders. If you are asking what I am basing that on.... it's my eyes.

Do you think HS Rosario was more talented? Unfortunately, he was too one dimensional coming in.... shooter only and NOT good at dribble penetration.

Let's see him play a couple of games first before we start talking about NBA. We have all seen our fair share of highly hyped players absolutely dominate in HS and then struggle in college. Agree that it would be great if he left in 2 years, but let's hold on for a bit. Sanders game is explosive, but from what I've seen he is a huge hot dog on the court - interested to see how that will translate in college - will definitely need to learn to tone it down some.

If you are going to go based on highlights and hype....Wally judge.

Corey sanders and any recruit is a fictional character until I seem they play in a rutgers uniform.

Calling sanders the most talented player in the last 25 years right now is laughable.

The mere fact that his supporting cast appears to cellar dwelling B1G caliber would seem to make a jump to the NBA after 1 or 2 years highly unlikely. He can make some nice passes but the other guys still need to finish. I hope this kid is coming with his eyes wide open and is committed to making the team better.

LOL at Wally Judge.... his film was a dunk show. It did not show any big time skills, like ball handling, post moves, shooting skills etc.... Go watch the film again.

So...try again. What player's film showed big time skills????? All around skills ??? You do Understand I am talking about incoming recruits..... everyone knows he has not played a game yet.... so the argument that he has not played a game does not apply.

Of the incoming recruits......Let me throw a few names at you.... Rosario, Carter, Corey Chandler, Dane Miller, Dhantay Jones, Doubly, Ech ?

I repeat...I am talking about incoming recruits and potential based on film.

Hard to judge Sanders' college career, especially since he hasn't even enrolled just yet.

Rosario was ranked #55 top recruit in the nation by rivals.com...while Sanders is ranked #75.

No guarantee any said player will have great success but yes, being ranked in the Top 100, most of those players are expected to produce at a high level in college, even though some won't.

Given that Rosario didn't really approach his HS ranking, I think Choppin has a good argument here. He is saying that this is the best guy we've gotten in a long long time. Haven't seen any real argument against that. His assessment of where other guys will end up is probably pretty reasonable as well. Clearly he's just speculating on that, but pretty realistically one would have to think.

Phil Sellers was rated in the Top 10 players in the Country by Street & Smith's magazine and he led us to the Final Four and made first team AP All American so I would say Corey was not the most talented kid we have ever brought in. Clarence Tillman who transferred into RU after a year at Kentucky was rated in the Top 20 in the country but he never quite lived up to those rankings at RU. Lloyd Moore was also ranked in the Top 20 and he played at Marquette a year and transferred to RU. He sat out a year and than played and started for Tom Young. Unfortunately Young left and Craig Littlepage said Moore had to lose some weight and forced Lloyd off the team. I think Littlepage made a huge mistake as Moore could score down low and his team really needed help.

The thing that Corey brings that hasn't been seen here in many years is he has point guard skills. IMHO we haven't had this level of point guard skill potential since Earl Duncan.

Now can he utilize these skills and live up to potential at the college level is to be seen.

Ruchoppin- I agree with most of what you say. I do think it is hard to put an expectation on CS until he plays a game. Nonetheless, I am optimistic too.

I always said that about Wally Judge. A hyped player that is 6 10 with a dunk mixtape? Pass. That should of been a red flag to most recruits. Wheres the low post game, the blocked shots? Way overhyped and people should not have been surprised. Of course a 6 10 player can dunk!

Sanders is a high level athlete. A dunker that is 6 0. That is impressive. Still, his needs to continue working his game. D! big ten play is an eye opener for any freshman. To succeed you need a quick release and the ability to create your own shot. My expectations for Sanders are around 8 pts a game, 5 assist and some defense. Should reach them and I'll be stoked on him as a team player Low expectations, never let down!

Knights1212.....I think you made my case if you are going way back to Phil Sellers in 1974 as the most talented incoming recruit. That's 40 years old.

Higgins....I'm not placing expectation on him and obviously, we all know he has not played a game. BUT....he is the most talented incoming freshmen recruit in the last 25 years

Yeah, I've shared the same sentiment. Sanders needs more 3's and less dunks. Very impressive he can dunk, but the dunk doesn't translate to the D! game too well if you're a freshman. Usually the lane isn't open and there's a 6 10 center in front of the hoop.

Big Corey fan, but yes. We need you deadly from "3", Corey, not just from "2".
