No need to share too much detailed information here, I just need to know if you’re the RU fan I’ve bumped into a couple of times getting morning coffee at the McDonalds on Adams and Wells.

If so, we’ll do a coffee toast to surviving this thing whenever we return to offices.
Haha no, I work on the North Side (Lincoln Park), Live in the southwest Burbs, so that is not me.

Funny enough, two of my old roommates from RU and myself all moved to Chicago. It's possible you bumped one of them though, always figured having three Rutgers roommates in Chicago was a major statistical anomaly.

I can tell you unequivocally in Wyoming , South Dakota , Nebraska , Iowa , very little to none... Illinois yes... an that comes from my people on the ground...lol

1. No you can't.

2. Wyoming isn't part of the Midwest

I know it kills you that Fauci, even with his screwups, is more respected by the American people for his knowledge that our President, who just started wearing a mask in public.
Nah, no surprise, it's well understood certain media outlets have perfected brainwashing the low info folks. But since Biden has already offered Fauci the job if he's elected (no comment re: thread rules), we'll see how long the Fauc lasts if he keeps screwing-up then. #CindySheehanRedux.

I live in the midwest, this is incorrect. Masks here in Illinois are mandatory if you can social distance. In door dining is allowed with a % of capacity I believe. Everywhere I go people have masks on if other people are around.
I ‘m not here to argue but I have personnel (real people who ) everyday verifying that mask wearing in Wyoming, South Dakota , Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana ... not really and the reason is lower infection rates... oh and inside Yellowstone N.P. not so much so... The one’s masking up are from California and East coast states. I will say you are correct about Illinois since they were like NJ,NY,Conn, and Pennsylvania. So later tonite or tomorrow night I’ll check with Indiana Ohio ... Some will wear a mask and most will if spread in those states increases...

Nobody lives in Wyoming
That’s the point about population density levels . In those Midwest states the number of people is far less. Wyoming 575k , SD 825k, Nebraska 2 mil,Iowa 3 Mil and Indiana 6mil, we have that many in New Jersey... so mask wearing in this section will be made mandatory for awhile.

That’s what I said about that particular spread from the lifeguards but who , what and where did they also come in contact with? My biggest laugh was this guy Yakiev Weis , from Brooklyn NY , renting this large home to 2 Newark divas who in turn invited another 696 people . Yet the guy with the gym gets arrested... no offense but that is not right in any world. Those girls and the neighbor kid who invited more should be heavily fined and arrested like the gym owner... maybe in another life...
I agree with you 100% on the gym vs airbnb thing.

What have you (and other people who work out) been doing as a gym replacement? March/April period all home gym stuff was seemingly on back order but that has improved a bit from what I see. Just honestly curious. I have some equipment but nothing obviously that replicates an actual gym setup.

You get the point... it’s not west coast ... it’s not east coast and if you surveyed Wyoming it’s more a Midwest appeal ... what do you consider... Cody Wy. or. Jackson Hole ? Especially Cody... great little town with a wonderful museum dedicated to ...can we dare say it ? Oh go ahead RUBOB72... Indian fighter William Frederick Cody ( Buffalo Bill) ... so crucify me that it’s a little more west than Midwest.lol

Aren't you retired?

And unless you're talking to tens of thousands of people every day, you really can't speak for a single state, let alone multiple states.

Mountain West all the way. If you want to lump the plains of WY (and MT+CO, for that matter) into Midwest, I'll allow it. But you're not getting Jackson.

Every once in a while I’ll get a “go RU!” when walking around downtown in an RU zip up. Always catches me by surprise!

I told you son I have people on the ground these past 2 1/2 weeks who have verified about masks and spoken to the actual people in the states. Yes I ‘m retired now 5+ years and up until a few lousy months ago travel with my wife at minimum 3 times per year . The areas I mentioned have a special meaning to us. Yes, I am blessed... this year cancelled Arizona , Disney in August ... was taking the family for the week and also our trip back to Hawaii in October -November for 3 weeks... Jackson Hole a great ski area is being ruined by the move from California to those areas... sorry to those from the Golden State . Sorry if you don’t believe... some didn’t believe Jesus Christ either and He was a better man than I.

I have family who are staying in Wildwood Crest this week and they have shared that the boardwalk is completely packed and almost no one wears a mask. Folks just don''t seem to get it or care enough if they do. I have seen my local HS teams practicing the last few weeks with no SD or masks.

I actually had stuff stored in my closet from the late 90s before I joined a gym...curl bar, olympic bar, 50 lb dumbbells, adjustable dumbell bars with 2.5, 5,10lb plates, so I could get basically decent shoulder, tri, bis, and back workouts in. Chest is tough because I dont have a bench so just 50lb dumbell presses and flies on the floor and push ups. Legs I did some stuff early on but I gave up as I just think its not effective for my goals for legs which is to maintain size. No gym is killing me in the leg department given I do heavy squats and leg press

I was thinking about unloading all this stuff on Craigslist last year but it pays to be a hoarder sometimes.

Not starting an argument here. The short answer is if they feel uncomfortable then leave and go back to the house. I've been down to AC, OC, Wildwood and Cape May within the last month. When you look down the entire depth of each of these boardwalks they look packed but it's very easy to social distance by 10ft plus. Avoid the famous pizza places and Water Ice/Ice cream shops. Everyone is moving. There is no large gatherings. If they are going to the boardwalk what were they expecting. Masks have little value outdoors especially in the winds.

Actually I saw a legit picture of the boardwalk may have been Asbury or Wildwood and unfortunately masks were far and few . I do still find it totally weird seeing people driving around in Middlesex county wearing a mask ... really folks ... nobody but you and the a/c ...

You said "personnel"; that's why I asked if you were retired.

I'm in UT, and I wouldn't try to make a sweeping statement about the whole state. Ask me at a specific time, on a specific date, about a specific set of GPS coordinates ...and still, probably a mixed bag.

But agree, too many Californians (and Texans, and New Yorkers, and ...people) flooding the Rockies. Glad I got here from NJ early enough not to be one of them

Was just talking about heading to Jackson sometime soon, but probably Targhee, not JH.

If you take the time to watch the 20/20 special, Fauci and Dr. Redfield were on the phone New Year's Day. They were in the loop.

The genesis of the pandemic response does not lie at the feet of Fauci as you so desperately want to try and make stick.

The pandemic battle was lost in early January when the Pandemic Response teams playbook was ignored by Trump. This is not a Democrat versus Republican issue as you so much want it to be. The Bush administration recognized the problem and put money into a national response. The Obama administration continued funding and refined things.

If you watch the 20/20 piece, we had an opportunity to greatly minimize deaths and illness and suffering and we didn't. By February it was too late. That is on Trump.
Sorry, you're flat-out wrong about a pandemic playbook being ignored. For starters we know the CDC was tasked with developing the testing kits in mid-Jan and the CDC was in constant contact with states/locales in Jan-Feb for pandemic planning. I'm not re-typing the details again so feel free to look-up via the search function at your leisure.

First you do understand that the CDC is part of the Federal Government? Right? So by definition, blaming the CDC or Fauci for that matter is the same as blaming the Trump administration. Does the buck stop at the top ring a bell?

The CDC could of had 300 million test kits ready to go by the end of January but that is beside the point. By the end of January, the genie was out of the bottle. Patient Zero hopped on a plane from Wuhan to Seattle the first week of January. Things needed to be shut down, then and there. Testing is besides the point.

Now if you want to argue that there is plenty of blame to go around, well that I agree with. The Chinese government has a lot of blood on their hands and folks like Fauci, Birx and Cuomo have made mistakes. No doubt.

But at the end of the day, it was and continues to be the failure of the Trump administration to have a coordinated and unified national plan for dealing with the pandemic that is numero uno in pointing blame.

This is not in question. So don't even try.

True. She lives in her own world. Have never seen her support anyone in politics. I don't think she doesn't care. I think she just wants to stay from that cesspool. Why alienate half your fan base.

This is nonsense. He’s not a doctor or an infectious disease specialist. The experts failed us badly thanks in no small part to China. The Who was giving bad advice on masks as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Trump should have been clairvoyant I guess.

Yeh I understand the POTUS is in charge of the Executive Branch. I also know that a plan for NY is not the same plan needed for No Dakota. So while the phrase "unified national plan" sounds good and is warm and fuzzy, it's not practical when it comes to the block and tackle needed in all the different trenches. And again, the CDC was working with each state and large metro areas on specific planning required for that state/city in Jan-Feb. Nobody was calling for a national shutdown with one infection or even one death here-not Fauci, not Pelosi, not McConnell, not Schumer, not the media, etc., etc. Look let's just agree to disagree, this same debate comes up over and over, it's tiresome.

but the bigger issue is censorship

She laid the groundwork for Lady Gaga on how to market themselves. Hate or like either's music is irrelevant. They make a ton of cash.

Jackson is just too cold for these old bones but a beautiful place. Love the west but to old and to far from kids and grandkids . They are more important.

Not happening for me. Ever wear a face shield with a mask? Moving cases of beer and your breathing increases and they fog up. The stupidity continues.

its funny because when I brought up eye shields the other day, the usual suspects either ripped on me or said its not transmitted that way. i will also note that the guy from Denmark also make a remark about visors perhaps being best. Will be interesting to watch but guess what good luck pushing that on the public.
