Looks like Danny Hurley is mastering thinning the herd and opening up scholarships ... which isn't done often enough in Piscataway. These notes on A10 transfers [excertped from linked article]. BTW, is the Kethan Savage mentioned here a relative of (1989?) Rutgers hoops star Tom Savage?
A-10 TRANSFERS -- Former UMass guard Derrick Gordon isn't the only Atlantic 10 player looking to finish his career elsewhere. George Washington was hit hard with the loss of junior Kethan Savage, who averaged 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. While the Colonials underachieved this season, there was enough talent returning that they had a chance to move up in the league next season. But the departure of the versatile 6-foot-3 guard is a blow to that.
Rhode Island lost three players, none of whom figure to drastically affect its prospects for 2015-16.
Big man Jarelle Reischel (3.0 points per game) and point guard Biggie Minnis (3.7 ppg) will each take advantage of the NCAA's graduate transfer rule and will be immediately eligible. Sophomore guard Matthew Butler (1.7 ppg) will have to sit out, but will have two years remaining.
Like Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure's two transfers look more like a chance to create available scholarships than significant losses.
Neither freshman guard Jalen Adams nor sophomore big man Xavier Smith played in half of the Bonnies' games this past season.
