Julie played that well....
Hey Shack, maybe Star Ledger is pissed they actually helped Rutgers by mistake,LOL. It's about time we used the media to our advantage, God knows they haven't been our friend in years!

It surely does seem like the politicians and Rutgers administration, including Julie, have found a way around at least part of the funding. There are funds available from the state for the mixed use/parking deck because of the business school, so no specific bill has to be voted on in Trenton to give money to Rutgers for a basketball facility. As to how much partial funding comes from the state and how much from donors remains to be seen, but at least not all of it has to come from donors. Yeah, some will come from various parking fees for events and otherwise, so the bean counters are carefully counting those beans.

Would not be the least bit surprised if Bob Mulcahy did not have a hand in guiding Julie in the NJ political arena, several months ago it was revealed that Bob had become an adviser to Julie & he was with her at numerous basketball games this past season, I even heard that many higher ups at RU were not happy about Bob being involved in the athletic department. One thing that Bob knows is the politics of NJ.

The fact that Lesniak bitched and moaned about nothing being done, is evidence he was
just left out of the loop, until all the planning was complete. Now he has egg on his face
as an idiot. But now some of you think his bitching made Barchi, and Julie put this together
overnight because of him. Look he is just pissed because he wasn't kept informed. Get real.
He deserves crap.

Lesniak is introducing legislation that would help pay for a dual function facility including a parking garage near the RAC.I applaud his interest and resolve to get funding for facilities so that Rutgers can successfully compete in the B1G.

I always thought Bob Mulcahy showed a lot of class, never showing any bitterness after he was let go. If he helped Julie in any way, good for him, and Rutgers. He's always been portrayed as anything but friendly towards the basketball program, so maybe this is his way of making up for that.

Seriously? Rutgers allowed him to treat the dismissal as a retirement, and allowed him to stay in his position to the end of the year. Mulcahy's response to the announcement that he was retiring was to hijack the ScarletKnights.com webpage and post his own rebuke of Rutgers saying that he was asked to resign and that it was not his decision.
