"Coach Lloyd is part of the fabric of Rutgers Basketball," said head coach Eddie Jordan. "He has been a mentor and friend to me and so many players and coaches through the years. Not only will he be missed for his veteran radio analysis, but for his positive influence on others as a member of our travel party."

The big question is.... who replaces him on the air?

I know he is still coaching now, but perhaps this is the spot for Eddie to go when he is done coaching. Not sure who would be the color commentator now for us. Would Wenzel want to do it?

Hopefully he wasn't saying "one more year" for 23 years in hopes were would make the tournament the following year....

Congrats Coach, you have meant so much to the University in all of you capacities.

Hey Abro, since this thread is about Dick Lloyd, why do you post a picture of Bill Foster with Bob lloyd and Jim Valvano?

Losing two guys in one week like Dick and Danny are tremendous losses for Rutgers broadcasting. Going to be tough shoes for Julie to go out and find guys to fill their spots. Dick was just such a loyal Knight and it must have tough to always find something positive no matter how bad the teams have been year after year.

A sad day for me as a long time RU MBB fan. Dick Lloyd and Dickie V coached one of my fraternity roommates at RU in the early seventies. He is the consummate gentleman who bleeds Scarlet more than anyone I've ever known.

In recent years Dick and his wife sat in the same FB section as my crew and I often would speak to him about RU BB. Surprisingly he often offered inside info on recruiting updates and the outlook for the current prospects for the team. One thing I can be sure of is that Dick Lloyd will continue to be attending RU sporting events and be one of our top supporters. He is a treasured asset of RU Athletics. I can't wait to see him again and to thank him for his long time contributions to RU Athletics. They don't make them like Dick Lloyd anymore. He will be sorely missed in my book.
