Did I hear this correctly on the telecast?

3-31 now baby!

Fear not, Dan Mullen should be our head coach shortly. May hear it tonight, deal with that.
Kyle Flood will run circles around Dan Mullen, because it's more than likely Fludd will be a waterboy for Maryland and he'll have to run around Mullen to get to the water bottles.

On a side note, where would this program be today if Julie was able to fire Fludd and hire Mullen 2 years ago like she wanted to?

Nobody has any idea. For the record in his FIFTH season, Mullen went 6-6, 3-5 (fifth in the SEC West) and won a minor bowl game. Would that have been enough for this crowd? With Ole Miss recruiting the way it was up the road? Not so sure.

State was patient and was rewarded in a big way in Years 6 and 7, but how that would translate to the Northeast is impossible to guess.

And barring scandal or something like 2-22, you shouldn't fire a football coach after two years. I know times have changed, but I still don't think it's wise, and it's not like the coaching community won't notice and wonder how much time another guy would get.

It's all speculation but you can do a little deductive reasoning to get an answer. MSU is tough to recruit too, yet Mullen has done a decent job. It's tough to win in the SEC, yet Mullen has won.

Give Mullen the team Fludd inherited and 4 years to recruit, where do you think we would be right now.

Give Fludd the MSU program Mullen inherited and 4 years, does anyone think Fludd would have had the success Mullen had?

Fludd isn't a good coach, he had everything in place to atleast field a competitive team, in his 4th year he can't even do that.

Who was fired after two years?
