People are pointing out that Bannon, Waters, and Rice also had early wins over ranked teams that showed promise for the future. Here's the difference. Bannon and Rice self destructed. No way can I see that happening with Pike. Waters was an excellent game coach who took advantage of the atmosphere he had at the RAC. But he couldn't recruit too well (Douby aside, he couldn't get enough players where we could compete for a Big East title). And even more importantly, Waters didn't understand the importance of strong assistant coaches on this level. Pike showed he understands that right from the start with the Hobbs and Knight hires. We are in good hands this time folks.
