In light of his freakish ball skills and our need for some swagger & showmanship in this program, I decided to honor his coming to our program with a wallpaper. I don't tweet so somebody get this out on the Twittersphere for me so he can see it and feel the love from us.

The Savior Cometh...

Pretty cool. The last thing any recruit wants to hear though is that he is the man the is going to bring the program back. Too much pressure.

That's awesome. We certainly could some more swag, looking forward to seeing what he can bring as a true freshman.

Ha! Some of you are hilarious.

It's a wallpaper for a fan(atic) forum. It's Nike-esque so it's suppose to be dramatic and over the top. Ever seen a Nike print ad? Also, nobody, myself included, is saying he has to be the savior and I don't think he will see this wallpaper and say "Oh geez, they want me to be the savior?" Have you guys ever even seen my wallpapers on the football forum? They are almost all over the top and always well-received. And the recruits eat this stuff up. They love tangible fan passion like this. And no I'm not putting a line about the banks. I'm not going for generic & boring. Maybe I should have just put "Go RU! Go Corey!" and throw in some clipart?

SMH. I stand by my effort. If you don't like it, don't download it. If you feel the need to art direct the piece, then show you me your credentials i.e. what makes you worthy of art direction, bah.

And considering the lows of the program right now, he very well "could" be the savior. And judging by the kids videos, I don't think he lacks confidence, nor do I think he would be offended or feel pressured by labeling him the savior in a piece of fan art. So nope, sorry. Learn Photoshop and edit it yourself if you don't like it.

Dirty

P.S. Before I get all kinds of lash backs, no I'm not "truly" pissed. Just baffled at a couple of the responses. To each his own I guess, but yeah that's how I feel in a nutshell. Good times.

I'm in agreement about the savior comment. Obviously this was meant to be a fun exercise and it's not like it will be posted on Route 3.

However, we post on the basketball boards every day and live and die with the team. Our opinions matter :-) In college basketball, there are no saviors.

Also it's just constructive criticism nothing against your skills or effort with PhotoShop - it's well done.

Dirty, can you email me? It's "thehowlingman770@gmail.com"

Appreciate it.

I like it. Don't change it and make it corny. Young people dont take the savior stuff literally, it's all in good nature.

By all means, its sick. I am just saying, maybe a little change in title. Picture is badass. Savior means something to anybody. I am trying to over analyze, but older folks handle pressure more than 18 y/o.

Nonetheless, sick picture. I am just offering feedback on the title.

So did you photoshop the Cory Chandler as savior wallpaper or did you use the Mike Rosario as savior?

Hehe Dirty does this for JG and football and everybody loves it and then he does it for Sanders and basketball and its too much. I think the basketball fans need to be more like the football fans.

Thanks for the supporters y'all. higgins, Aggs, fair enough. I'll respect your opinions. No harm no foul. ;) And Aggs, I'll email you.

78- I don't get your comment at all but if you're trying to be funny, I'm still waiting to laugh. Or for someone else to reply back and laugh. And if you're accusing me of being over the top by labeling him a savior, well fine, guilty as charged. Like I said, I meant to be over the top. For the fan art wallpaper.

I get the headline is not to be taken literally ... just hate to see us throw unrealistic expectations based off highlights on a freshman, when we just need Corey to take to coaching and be the best point guard he can be.

And basketball fans are on Twitter promoting the basketball program and recruits; it's not at the level of football because od bvious reasons.

We all like the edit - it's sick. Maybe 'C is comin' - similar to "Omar comin" like in the Wire. But you don't have to change a thing, really. Anyone who takes the time to create an edit for a basketball recruit is an asset to the fan base!

Dirty, my humblest apology if I offended you. As usual, your graphic works are fantastic and greatly appreciated. I only mentioned the "savior" comment due to history. There were articles and posts anointing Rosario the savior as well, and that didn't turn out so well. I just think it adds undue pressure to an athlete.

Again, the graphics, passion, and positive energy you bring are top notch!

Dirty, geez, lighten up big guy. As someone who can't draw a straight line with a ruler, I always appreciate your art. But, yeah, we've had highly recruited guards who were going to lead us to the promise land. Instead they led to Binghamton and Florida.

78- It's fine, I was in a pi$$y mood. I still don't agree with the whole idea of "not" using a word like savior... I think it's totally safe and totally appropriate for what I was trying to do, but to each his own.

Dirty, love the artwork. You have way more talent than probably 99 % of the critics.

Savior- person who can help save a program. I think any top notch recruit could fit the bill. I don't have a problem with it. It's a compliment that many are looking forward to his arrival.

Btw, We could use a few saviors, in case 1 transfers out....
