Don't sleep at Temple

Villanova struggled to beat Delaware State who is ranked 361 out of 363 teams. So much for getting any SOS boost or cred for playing Temple.

Always good when Nova loses and that ought to ensure that we won't take Temple lightly in any way (not that I think we would've). I grew up on Big Five basketball and Temple was my favorite of those teams for reasons I can't really recall.
Temple was a favorite of mine as well because they were a top highly ranked A-10 team at the time and gave the conference some respect and credibility when Rutgers was there.

Hurley can recruit but he's hit or miss as gameday coach.
It's amazing the job he's doing as a recruiter (and Kimani Young and Bill Murray's son). That campus has come a long way, but it's still in the middle of nowhere and cold.
Agreed on the coaching, he was ejected from their biggest win last season. A strong suit for him is the various actions they use to get Sanogo open and get him the ball in the post, wish we'd copy some of that for Cliff.

Villanova will be fine this year. They are missing their two best players in Moore and Whitmore. When those two come back they will (again) challenge for the BE title.

Not trying to be debbie downer, but if we are missing our 2nd and 3rd best players (Mulcahy and Caleb) for the next four or five games (like Nova with their best two) I think we will struggle ourselves. (IMO) There is a HUGE difference between having Derek Simpson and Aundre Hyatt as our 6th/7th man v having Antoine Woolfolk and Dean Reiber as our 6th/7th man.

If Paul is not much better physically, Temple should be the favorite

Based on what exactly? I’m not saying your wrong, but technically they have one win on their resume that looks less impressive by the minute. Columbia just beat Delaware State by 5. Villanova was in a nail biter with them the other day.

Temple lost to a previously winless Vanderbilt and Wagner - both at home. Villanova struggled with Delaware State who just lost to Columbia... Columbia were horrific against us.

I know the transitive property isn't exactly a thing but I'll take my chances with Pike being able to gameplan for Dunn... With or without Paul and Caleb.

If we don't have Paul and Caleb our guard/wing depth is? Jalen Miller and.....

Cam, Derek, Aundre and Mawot going 35 minutes each and Jalen going 20 may prove a bit of a challenging rotation to win this game. To win any game candidly.

From Pike’s presser, it sounded to me like we’ll have Paul but probably not Caleb. Who knows for sure though.

Regardless - Temple is dealing with major chemistry issues right now.

@Seton Hall 82 Wagner 44
Wagner 76 @Temple 73
Neutral Temple 72 Rutgers 66(W/out Caleb & Paul)
Doesn't mean Seton Hall wins @Rutgers in Dec.
Sorry to inform. No transitive properties there.
