Doucoure fully cleared.

Can never say never, but was hearing that the staff bounced this idea around back in the winter and felt confident that they could do this if the player felt ready and willing to do so....huge confidence builder again, provides insurance and time for Shaq Doorson to not rush back through workouts....

Hawk- your expectations? He's a defensive presence and possible rebounder correct?

knights1212 and I both watched Doucoure (and 2019 recruit Paul Mulcahy since they played against each other in the game we watched)....he was relatively raw and chiseled then...not stiff but not exactly fluid as a big man. I felt his biggest strength was he rebounded everything and altered shots, but that is HS, when he was the biggest kid on the court.

He showed a little touch out to 12-15 feet in left open and has decent form, but I would not call him a scorer. His FT shooting wasn't bad, but I would not call him a definite kid that I would think is going to be a 70% or better shooter from the line.

Basketball is a matchup sport....an example is if Doucoure is guarding his man and his man sets a pick against our guard to try and allow that player to score, bigs in that situation need to be able to move their feet and slide defensively....and if that guard is someone that Doucoure has to guard in a "switch" after the pick and roll, he needs to be able to move fast enough to at least try and stay in front of that player. I think he can do that as well.

Doucoure and Souf Mensah should really make RU a much stronger defensive team in those situations....Mensah is strong and should be able to pester opposing guards and box out/rebound. Doucoure should also be able to attack the offensive glass and score.

With some work, he should be Gettys offensively in a year and much better defensively...

Wow, that'd be huge if he could give Gettys' offensive production as a sophomore. 7.7 pts, 2.0 OReb, 1.2 ast in 22 min, with a 0.8 a/to ratio? And better defensively, with two more years to grow? Sign me up.
