ECU over UConn - 41 to 3

Seriously? After we got blown out by Michigan and Ohio State by a combined 136 to nothing, you're gonna bring this up???? Connecticut, has their problems, granted, and they're in the AAC, but we have out own, from a fan base standpoint all the way to the immediate program. At this point, I could care less about UCONN. We have our own issues to deal with.

And this thread blows!

Just another example of how bad Diaco is as a head coach. The folks who wanted that lightweight here cause he was a Jersey Guy are fortunate he is somewhere else.

The highlight of UConn and and Rutgers respective seasons is looking up the other's scores.

It's only one game, but East Carolina has a rabid fan base, more than one successful stretch in recent memory and a location in a pretty fertile recruiting ground. They have ingredients for success that UConn just does not have.

But yes, there but for the grace of god (and cable TV viewers) ...

Scary. If we were in the that league we would be struggling too. I know that we are taking our lumps but I'm still happy to be at the big boy table

UCONNs hurting but ECU traditionally has a pretty good team. At least in the past they have a good record vs NC State. The school has LITTLE academic standards for its students let alone football players (so its easy to recruit and keep players in school). The school is considered the dregs of North Carolina. Two of the partiers in my high school class enrolled at ECU. Heard they transferred lout because of the lack of seriousness.

Spent the summer of 1987 down the shore with a ton of ECU students. To say they had the intelligence (one frat type managed to let two people drown at a beach I was swimming at and stole my license plate after I complained as I stepped in a hole in the rough ocean at the same time and almost drown myself) of my terrier-poodle at age 2 would have been an insult to my dog. Two of the people housing with me were two of the hottest girls Ive ever seen though.

I'm well aware of our ongoing challenges and really don't take pleasure in seeing other teams - not including PSU of course - lose. Have followed ECU and PN.

I'd MUCH rather see RU win.

Taking glee in UCONN's problems is about the same as gloating over a Lehigh or Princeton loss. Ancient history. As long as they're not taking recruits from us, I couldn't care less.

Maybe the question should be, "Has Uconn hit rock bottom yet". My gut tells me they have a ways to go; maybe a year or two. In another year the few fans they have left will finally realize they never had what it takes to be P-5 and never deserved an invite to a real conference which is why they didn't get one over SU, BC, RU, Pitt or Louisville. Their womens bball, field hockey and mens bball championships were worthless outside of Storz.

who cares? why find joy in another program looking for wins when we have to fix our own house?
BTW..Uconn has basketball to look forward to..

As bad as they are, their fans still have the nerve to put down any program including the whole AAC and half the Power 5, especially us, who they think they're better than when in truth Uconn football is at the bottom of the Div 1 pecking order. The misfortunes of that football program couldn't have happened to a more deserving fan base.

I don't understand what's wrong for rooting for Rutgers, but also against other teams. It's SPORTS. You like some teams, don't like others. Some people on here make it seem like you're just supposed to watch Rutgers and then turn off the TV. Part of what makes college football great is you ROOT for your favorites and AGAINST your rivals or teams you have reason not to like. UConn fans constantly and for years have been trying to come up with reasons they belong in the Big Ten instead of us. So, naturally we take pleasure seeing them do horrible in football in a conference that is considerably worse than ours.

It's bully mentality. Making fun of others to boost your self-worth when you have your own problems to deal with.

FIFY, since we have a strong contingent of vocal fans who seem to revel in the possibility that we will not win another game this season and/or shout down posters who think we will win another game, and tell us we live in a fantasy world, or something like that.

Uhm, no, it isn't. This is FBS-level COLLEGE FOOTBALL, not the 5th grade playground, get real.

(EDIT - I bet you love "participation trophies," right?)

Exactly. Schadenfreude is sweet when you consider that UConn fans are among the most vile college sports fans out there. They almost make Walmart Wolverine fans looks classy.
