Elias Reynolds decommits

why pick on an 18 year old--heck the guy that recruited him is gone

"when things die down and become more complacent"

Young man, things cannot become more or less complacent. If you come and play football at RU , at least, the school will help you with your vocabulary.

Maybe. But what do I know? My sentence structure in my comment sucks anyway, not to mention the extraneous "and" I just edited out (and the comma splice I have in this run-on sentence).

I've edited my first post in order to correct the poor English I used when I criticized his English. Who doesn't love the edit button.

Come to play football. lol.

Once again many many of these commits will leave RU, its going to be bad.

However the 2017 class is now a clean slate, it would have been a disaster under Flood.
Let the flotsam go and let GS take our kinda guys...he was never an RU recruit...he was a KF recruit..

Kids will do what they think is in their best interest.

If they want to stick with their RU commit then they'll be welcome with open arms. If not? Then I wish them well. But whatever happens with this class, showing KF the door was absolutely the right thing to do.
If he wants back in ....get in line.

I love the decommits now after Flood was fired. These kids really wanted to get their asses kicked.

Now that they may get a coach here who is a winner they bolt. Unbelievable

Deal with the fact that Flood was the guy they committed to play for, and that he's not the incompetent that fuels your anger; he's merely not the guy that wins 10 games in the Big Ten - East.

I have no doubt that we win these guys back with the new hire -- if he thinks they're right for Rutgers -- but let's stop beating up on an unemployed Flood as the basis for an agenda that no longer has any basis.

I would never commit to a school without knowing who the coach is and having that coach personally reoffer me the scholarship. Any other way is taking a big risk.

Let's be optimists and assume the new coach will attract better recruits than the ones who are leaving.

Let's hope that each decommit results in an upgrade

Recruits always drop off when a coach is fired. That's how RU got Ray Rice and Courtney Greene (after SU coach was fired). Reynolds always seemed like a decent dude and his post seems thoughtful and measured.

Agreed, but from a recruits perspective, they are right to be pensive.

eh.. whatever.. yay for social media though.. making young adults look stupid(by their own ego) at their own accord

I kind of think we should change the official name to The University of New Jersey-Rutgers

Even better - "I like The University of Central New Jersey - Rutgers at New Brunswick" - or quite simply UCNJRUNB. That way we can be both a "directional" school and a "hyphenate" school. We can have a home-and-home with IUPUI. It would do wonders for our brand.

Are you going to volunteer to work on this chant with the student section before games?

If
Well after some of the comments here I am not too sure if he would want to continue to consider Rutgers. I thought he expressed his thoughts openly and clearly and one should be able to understand why he or anyone else might want to reconsider and look at other schools that will now be snipping away at our recruits. Don't you think we would not and may also be doing the same where we can.
If players decided to commit (or not) to RU based upon things said on these message boards, we'd never have a commit. We have many solid posters, but I believe a greater number of posters with the maturity level of a 9 year old and who post without first thinking through what they want to say. Kids have to realize that they are not going to be playing for or interacting with people on this board. If a prospective recruit reads a negative post about himself, he should do what I do --- say "What a dope!" and then hit the ignore link for that poster.
