Quotables
James Beatty on Mike Rice:
"If I could do it again, I would be a junior and have two years to play under (Mike Rice). I know he brings so much out of you. I competed and fought so much this year, and he brought so much out of me that I didn't know I have. I don't know how strong I would have been facing all these adversities with the transferring. Probably under another coach, we wouldn't have had the season we had. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything."
Brandon Bing on not redshirting at Rutgers:
"Of course it would have been beneficial. I came in here at 17 years old, 150 pounds. Another year probably would have been beneficial but at the same time, everything happens for a reason and I’m just going to roll with what I got now."
Mike Rice on his team:
"They kept playing and credit to the seniors and a credit to again how they developed through the season and it's such a different team and I'm proud of these guys. Again, circumstances, it is what it is. Can't control what happened, you can't control how you respond. I tell it to them every day and these guys responded like men and I'm very proud of them."
on future of program
"Again, these three [seniors] have built such a mentality, helped me build such a mentality by buying into not stopping, the toughness that you have to do to win in the Big East and we've developed that. The class coming in has to understand that this is our formula. This is how hard you work. This is the level of demand that we have and if you want to be successful this is what it takes and these three seniors have done it all for us.
Senior guard Mike Coburn on the end of his Rutgers career
"I'm a senior, been here four years and to lose your last game and I really wanted to see us continue on, that's the only thing I really wanted to keep winning and it's tough but you can't hang your head on that."

Big Time offers
There will be some prospects on hand with some big time offers already to their name. Some of those big names are as follows:
Devin Fuller (Old Tappan)
The quarterback pulled in his seventeenth offer today from Alabama and is easily one of the top two players in the state of New Jersey.
Jarron Jones (Aquinas Institute, NY)
The 6-foot-7 defensive tackle is quickly becoming one of the most sought after recruits in the northeast as he is up to sixteen offers and more are expected to follow in quite a hurry.
Michael Moore (DeMatha, MD)
The defensive end has seen his recruitment take off since Rutgers became one of the first schools to offer him. His offer list now stands at twenty.
JJ Denman (Pennsbury, PA)
The offensive lineman’s offer list has crept up to eleven and watching him go head to head against Jarron Jones in the one-on-one should make for an intriguing battle.
Quanzell Lambert (Timber Creek)
The solid linebacker pulled in a slew of early offers and now holds seventeen heading in to this weekend’s Showcase as the northeast’s premier linebacker.
Davon Jacobs (DePaul)
The athlete recently picked up two new offers after sitting on seven for a good while. He is very versatile but probably better suited for the safety position.
Rising stars
Some prospects are starting to take off and a host of them will be in attendance this weekend in Oakland, N.J. Some of those prominent names include the following players.
J.C. Coleman (Oscar Smith, NC)
The dynamic running back has accrued seven offers and should expect that number to increase in the very near future as size may be the only thing holding some schools back.
Jevon Tyree (South Brunswick)
The athlete just jumped onto the scene, collecting four offers in a hurry. More schools are showing interest as Tyree is one of the biggest rising stars in the Garden State.
Brandon Napoleon (St. Peter’s Prep)
A lot of new schools are starting to show heavy interest in the athlete as more offers have been coming in as of late.
Ryan Brodie (Long Branch)
Colleges are finally starting to recognize the talent as Brodie is up to five offers after sitting on a lone one from Rutgers for months.
Casey Cochran (Masuk, CT)
The quarterback has a complete arsenal of skills and being from Connecticut can only hinder his recruitment for so long. More offers should add to his lone one from Boston College very soon.
Tevin Shaw (Picataway)
It is a bit puzzling as to why Shaw has only one offer. But now that South Carolina got the ball rolling, more offers are likely to follow.
Under the radar prospects
The Showcase will provide some under the radar prospects with a chance to prove their worth. The list of under the radar prospects includes some prospects who will likely haul in their share of offers before all is said and done. That group is highlighted by the following players.
Elijah Hughes (Elizabeth)
The running back who may be smaller in stature, but may very well be the quickest and most electric running back in the state of New Jersey.
Mike Diaz (Edison)
The intriguing offensive lineman will be put to the test at the Showcase as he will be pitted against some top defensive linemen from the region.
Ruhann Peele (Linden)
Peele has good speed and has added some size, yet still holds only one offer from Rutgers.
Steve Longa (Saddle Brook)
The Cameroon born linebacker packs a lot of promise and immediately passes the eyeball test.
Kalief Joyner (Christ the King, NY)
The big tight end from New York should start getting a lot more interest, particularly since it is a bit of a down year for tight ends in the state of New Jersey.
Eli Ankou (St. Peter’s, Canada)
The Canadian linebacker has been impressive on the combine circuit so far and is trying to make it out from under the Canadian radar as well.
