Quotables
Duron Harmon on his physical progress:
“With JB’s [Jay Butler] strength program, I believe I’ve gotten faster. I don’t really rely on it, but I think it’s one of my better attributes on the field. I’m the strongest and fastest I’ve ever been.
Khaseem Green on Duron Harmon playing safety:
“It’s natural for him. He’s played it all his life. He’s been there. It’s not something he needs to learn to get the gist of the position. It’s something he can do without thinking.”
Myles Jackson on the possibility of redshirting:
"Everybody wants to come in and compete when they get there, but whatever happens, happens. The coaches know what’s best for you and you just have to take it. What they’re doing is going to benefit you in the long run; if it’s redshirting, if it’s playing on special teams, if it’s cracking the two-deep. Either way, I’ll be happy. I just want to show my ability and I can only control what I can control."
Brandon Coleman on working with Chas Dodd:
“Me and Chas were good since the summer, we’re best friends, we’re roommates. We have a connection and we’re going to keep building it in the spring and work through it in the summer and try to get it right.”
Mason Robinson on Coach Schiano coaching the defense:
“I like it better, spending all that time with Coach Schiano. You have to bring your best. Usually, he just comes over and he’s not in the room with you teaching, so its like he’s yelling at you and getting on you more than coaching. When you really work with him, you realize when he’s getting on you, he’s really coaching.”

Recruiting tidbits
New offers
Old Tappan quarterback Devin Fuller’s offer list bumped up to 22 this week when Notre Dame and Pitt both sent out offers to NJVarsity’s No. 2 ranked player in the state.
Holy Spirit linebacker Dan Mastromatteo picked up his fourth offer this week from Boston College. Rutgers is currently his leader but Mastromatteo will visit Penn State this weekend and stated that the Nittany Lions will join RU in his top two if he leaves with an offer. Meanwhile, PSU already has a linebacker commit in Camren Williams and are very high on LB’s Nyeem Wartman and Quanzell Lambert.
New RU offer
Rutgers sent out a mid-week offer this week to tight end/defensive end Jack Schwaba of Upper St. Clair High School in Pittsburgh, PA. The 6-foot-5, 230 pound Schwaba also holds offers From Syracuse and Toledo and was excited to land the RU offer.
“It was great to get an offer from an established program such as Rutgers,” said Schwaba. “They have a great history and great facilities, I can't wait to see the campus and the stadium. I will probably be visiting for the spring game April 30th.”
Commits on campus
Manalapan quarterback Mike Bimonte will make his second trip to spring practice on Saturday and commented on what he has taken so far from watching the Scarlet Knights in action.
“It’s good to get out and watch practice. I love the vibe they have during practice. The thing that’s helped me the most watching practice has been the weekly meetings with coach Janocko learning the offense. It’s helped me to start recognize things that are called out on the field and in meetings.”
Downingtown East tight end Tyler Kroft is hoping to make it on the RU campus for some spring practices before all is said and done.
?“I’m going to try and get up as much as I can, but lacrosse is keeping me busy,” Kroft said. “I was up last weekend to take my placement test.”
Future big men on campus
Michael Casimos (Don Bosco)
The offensive lineman is receiving steady interest and could be closing in on his first offer. He will visit Temple this weekend and hopes to check out Rutgers in the coming weeks.
“No visits to Rutgers planned yet, but I’ll see some practices and games soon,” Casimos said.
Sean Henigin (Bridgeton)
The 6-foot-7, 335 pound offensive tackle is claiming offers from Duke and North Carolina and is in the midst of planning a few visits.
“I’m working on ones for Wisconsin, Penn State, Florida and Stanford.,” said Henigin.
Henigin is also hoping to get up to Rutgers ‘within a month’ and mentioned how things are going with the Scarlet Knights coaching staff.
“Good, we talk every once in a while because I’m tied up with track.”
Walk on watch
Ryan Rogers (Worcester Academy, MA)
The walk-on wide receiver is finishing up the semester at his New England prep school but is looking forward to getting down to Rutgers where he will begin taking classes in June.
“What I'm looking forward to next year the most has to be going to a great program that is hard-working and will get after it on and off the field and will be a great experience,” said Rogers.
Rogers also said he would like to make it down for a spring practice but his heavy academic workload coupled with the distance might not make that a possibility.
