Quotables
Jawan Jamison on the RU running backs:
“I feel really good about it. Each one of us brings something different to the table — that’s what Coach said to me. I’m just trying to be a complete back.”
on the competition:
“Right now, we don’t really know too much. I’m one of the third, but right in the middle. We’re all competing and there’s not a definite running back yet. We still have to get better every day, then we’ll see in training camp.”
Elijah Carter on life after commitment:
“Honestly, it’s been good. I don’t have to deal with any more phone calls unless it’s from my head coach.”
Caleb Ruch on the RU offensive line:
“It’s been a real good spring for the offensive line. We looked a lot better, we feel like were playing a lot better. It’s a lot better than last spring.”
Brandon Coleman on the RU offense:
“The offense and the whole team is really clicking this spring. We feel really strong. We’re just learning the system, but everything is going up for us right now.”

Recruiting tidbits
RU ranking high
Plenty of college coaches are checking in on Maryland wide receiver Ian Thomas including Rutgers.
“I have a great relationship with the coaches up there at Rutgers and they are still high on the board,” said Thomas. “They came by right before my spring break.”
PA tight end
Rutgers is still on the lookout for tight end talent and Upper St. Clair tight end Jack Schwaba has RU atop his list. However, Schwaba couldn’t make the RU spring game because he attended the Penn State Nike Camp.
“It went great,” said Schwaba of the Nile camp. “I think if they would have tight end MVP, I would've gotten it. There were very good linebackers that I went up against.”
So far this week, Purdue, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Temple, indiana, Northwestern, Pitt, Syracuse, Eastern Michigan and Villanova have all been in to check out Schwaba.
Early decisions
Holy Spirit linebacker Dan Mastromatteo is now receiving interest from Miami, but is still looking to get his decision out of the way before the summer. This past week, he said he was looking forward to getting the process over with and RU remains his leader.
RU visits
Rutgers came in to visit Haddonfield offensive tackle Jim Cashman last Wednesday before extending a weekend offer. Despite being the 13th team to offer, Cashman is high on the Scarlet Knights.
“It was awesome, Coach Schiano tried calling me this past weekend but our baeball team was in Cooperstown,” said Cashman. “So I didn’t get a chance to call him back until Tuesday night.”
Schiano then extended an offer to one of NJ’s rising juniors. In spite of all the offers, Cashman may not be looking to draw out his recruitment.
“It would be great if I made my decision before my senior so I could relax and not have to worry about school and all that,” he said.
RU at the top
Eramus Hall defensive back Wayne Morgan was unable to attend the RU spring game but commented on where the program stands in his eyes.
"The two schools that are showing me the most love are Michigan and Rutgers, so I would put those two up top. Rutgers, I'm always down here. There's nothing more for me to see, I'm always there."
New offers
Montclair defensive end Julian Pinnix-Odrick picked up a new offer from Temple to give him a total of six including one from Rutgers.
DePaul offensive tackle Errol McCarthy also picked up an offer from Temple yesterday.
Saddle Brook linebacker Steve Longa hauled in offer No. 6 yesterday from UConn. Minnesota and Boston College also stopped by Saddle Brook High School this week.
