Note this is seperate from the hot water McCabe is in with relation to the FISA abuse

Washington observers say there are a growing number of signs that federal prosecutors in Washington are in the final stages of deciding whether to indict Andrew G. McCabe on charges of lying to federal agents.

The former deputy F.B.I. director has been a frequent target of President Trump.

“An indictment would be certain to draw praise from Mr. Trump, who has made his attacks on Mr. McCabe a centerpiece of his yearslong campaign to discredit the Justice Department and the F.B.I. over the Russia investigation,” reports Adam Gold at the New York Times:

In two meetings last week, Mr. McCabe’s lawyers met with the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen, who is expected to be involved in the decision about whether to prosecute, and for more than an hour with the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, Jessie K. Liu, according to a person familiar with the meetings. The person would not detail the discussions, but defense lawyers typically meet with top law enforcement officials to try to persuade them not to indict their client if they failed to get line prosecutors to drop the case.

An indictment of a former top F.B.I. official is extremely rare and would be the latest chapter in the saga of Mr. McCabe, who was fired last year over the issue now under criminal investigation — whether he failed to be forthcoming with internal investigators examining the F.B.I.’s dealings with the news media.

well yes...although this is not the big case..thats later...that his lawyers are having these meetings possibly trying to plead their case right now indicates its might be more than maybe

I wonder if CNN will report on this today about their new contributor

CNN may go from the Lacks Candor Network to the Give a Felon a Chance Network.

Trump: Nobody believes all this deep state bullshit I started.

Advisor: Hannity is selling it big-time Mr. President.

Trump: Sure, sure. But people are laughing about it.

Advisor: Not sure what else we can do.

Trump: You gotta indict somebody. Anybody. Doesn't matter if you can't get a conviction.

Advisor: Well, we could indict McCabe. Nobody cares about him. On the other hand, it would be like indicting the honey bee that stung a corpse in the aftermath of a nuclear exchange.

Trump: (Stopped listening at "we could indict McCabe"). Do it!

Hannity will get his marching orders from the WH, run on the air with it and his two biggest fans will say, "see I knew it was true!"

Right Tango because it isn't important? Who cares if 20+ people get mowed down in El Paso?

Or is it something to make a joke about because a number were Hispanic?

    Never mind, we all know.

Absolutely..just like they did with Flynn and Pappy

However for some reason i think there will be a different standard

All i want is equal standards across the board

They already let this guy Wolfe a Senate staffer go free even though he leaked the fisa warrant to a girl he was ****ing from the ny times

My point is 9 people shot in mass shooting and it’s wall to wall coverage but 7 shot and almost nothing.

Is it because lack of fatalities or is 8 the cut off for wall to wall coverage

You are well beyond stupid if you think anything you just said has any bearing on how ridiculously hilarious it will be if McCabe is indicted. Might as well indict a seal for farting and causing global warming.

I hope so. Would be the most politically motivated indictment of an absolute nobody in a long history of politically motivated indictments of absolute nobodies.

Mr. President, we just indicted a disloyal nobody who is guilty of the heinous "improper media disclosure" crime. The indictment of this traitorous deep state soldier proves the deep state's existence beyond a shadow of a doubt.

    So great. [roll]

Yeah, but the legal context in which they lied is different. Look it up. What they did was illegal. What he did was frowned upon by the FBI. Big, yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge, difference.

Didn't Libby out an active CIA agent both putting her, and her human assets, in danger and ending her career as a field agent? He should've been shot as a traitor for that, far as I'm concerned. Politics only entered that equation because of presidents commuting his sentence.

Whereas McCabe had a subordinate talk w/a reporter about an investigation into Hillary, putting nobody at risk of anything. Not to mention McCabe may well have been well within his authority to do so. And then McCabe was less than completely forthcoming about having done so.

Trump and his allies went after McCabe because McCabe wasn't playing along and because McCabe clearly felt that Trump might have obstructed justice and McCabe's lack of forthrightness made him an easy target.

McCabe is a nobody who did nothing in particular wrong other than making an enemy of the president. Purely political. Going after him after all this time is entirely about trying to prop up a failing deep state narrative that nobody outside the Trumper bubble believes in or even cares about.

Libby wasn't charged with the actual leak - nobody was. It was swept under the table. Which sucks. Somebody should've been shot. Libby was just charged with lesser crimes (obstruction, lying to federal investigators and so forth).

But Libby and/or Rove and/or Cheney all seemed likely to have been involved. Libby was disposable and was therefore the sacrificial lamb to placate the opposition.

Extremely political, yes. But he was sacrificed by his own people to end an investigation. Whereas McCabe was targeted by the president to help try to sell a narrative that could help discredit the Mueller investigation's work on Trump's obstruction.

    Not really similar situations.

McCabe was under investigation before Trump....

This has nothing to do with fisa...that will come next...then you can use your Trump bs which means zero since Horowitz isnt political

I know the situations are not similar and I am also aware that no one was charged with the leak

All I was saying is that Libby didn’t leak Valerie Plame’s name

It was Armitage who did that

It was political then, too, but for different reasons. And don't be ridiculous. Everybody and everything in Washington is political. Horowitz will do as he's told, or he wouldn't be there. Obviously.
