This. Rutgers truly outplayed NW for much of the game, but NW cashed in on an early penalty corner, and then simply got an empty net goal after we pulled our goalie in the last two minutes.

Our ladies can hold their heads high today after battling the juggernaut that is Northwestern.

Unfortunately, starting the season 4-7 will likely prove to be too much to overcome, as we finished 8-9 overall and probably won’t make the NCAA Tournament despite an RPI around 15.

We might have had a chance at 9-8 if we would’ve beaten UMass-Lowell last week. We had a small margin for error after the bad start to the season, and a late season loss to a team outside the top 25 RPI was probably the death blow if we weren’t going to make the B1G final.
