Final kickoff

Why not pooch it 30 yards instead of dribbling it 10 yards?

This is Exactly what we were all saying at the end of the game! Since 95% of the fans bailed by this time, I doubt many people even saw this. Indiana had everyone up on the line and no-one deep. I cant recall for sure if other receiving teams in that situation usually keep at least one player deep, or behind the front line at some distance... but I think they usually do. The RU players would have and advantage as we would have a running start moving in that direction. The Indiana players would have had to reverse field to retreat and get to the ball. Since I'm not sure if any teams ever line up without a man deep, not sure if a kicking team plans for or practices for that situation. Without time outs not sure if coaches could have communicated this to the players, and doubt that the players have the "permission" from the coaches to make this change on their own. Interesting situation.

Well, then what's stopping anyone from grabbing a ball and running in for a touchdown when the other team does not recover a punt? Everyone want to pin the opposition inside the five yard line during a punt, so why not just run it in?

Saw that to from my seat in Section 124.
Why not short kick .....errrr normal kick to the 25 yard line ....could have had a greater chance of recovering it.
