Although it would have been better for us w AA at 141 tonight, the Finals are still going to be tremendously exciting. Some awesome matchups like IMart vs Nolf again, Nashon Garrett vs Cory Clark, and the probably finale show stopper Gwiz vs Snyder.

125: No. 3 Nico Megaludis (Penn State) vs. No. 4 Thomas Gilman (Iowa)

133: No. 1 Nahshon Garrett (Cornell) vs. No. 2 Cory Clark (Iowa)

141: No. 1 Dean Heil (Oklahoma St.) vs. No. 14 Bryce Meredith (Wyoming)

149: No. 1 Zain Retherford (Penn State) vs. No. 2 Brandon Sorensen (Iowa)

157: No. 1 Isaiah Martinez (Illinois) vs. No. 3 Jason Nolf (Penn State)

165: No. 1 Alex Dieringer (Oklahoma State) vs. No. 2 Isaac Jordan (Wisconsin)

174: No. 1 Bo Nickal (Penn State) vs. No. 11 Myles Martin (Ohio State)

184: No. 1 Gabriel Dean (Cornell) vs. No. 7 Timothy Dudley (Nebraska)

197: No. 1 Morgan McIntosh (Penn State) vs. No. 2 J'Den Cox (Missouri)

285: No. 1 Nick Gwiazdowski (N.C. State) vs. No. 2 Kyle Snyder (Ohio State)

I differ with you at 125 and 285, going with G Man and Snyder. I also think 11 seed Myles Martin could shock Nickal. I'm rooting for IMart , but boy, Nolf sure has looked better in this tourny so far.

Wow, they filled in all the area by the vacated 7 mats with more seats (who got them, the wrestlers?) and everyone right on top of Center Mat, the Crowd seems fired up and very into it !

Mega beats G Man 6-3,but stalled the entire 3rd. Suprised the officials didnt give more push more.

Heil dec over 14 seed Meredith, by 1, closer than I thought it would be

Retherford overwhelms Sorenson. Iowa site saying all the Penn St wrestlers have acne , boils and puffy faces, meaning Steroids and PEDs, lol, got to love crazy fans, lol

Wow ,Imart with the match winning Take down w 5 secs to go over the talented Nolf !

Wild match, Martin almost pins on edge of mat, Nickal w furious comeback, Martin holds on w 11-8 win !

This was one of the best finals in a long time. Tons of exciting matches. Best HWT match ever.

Agreed . best I can remember, almost no boring matches, a lot of buzzer beaters too. But ESPN cut away before the MVP, i'll go over to the watch espn feed , see if its there.

Let's talk next year's recruiting. I think it's clear RU will be difficult to beat put for a kid. Once RU invests and makes their facilities big ten worthy, I believe that will be the next step to nationally recruit.

Brands cost Iowa the 4th place trophy tie with VT LOL as they finished 1 point shy.

Should be another great year. We need the facilities (but they seem 2 yrs away to being finished), full funding of OOS schollies & the Blair kids to finally buy in.

Replacing all the points scored by Anthony Perrotti and Billy Smith will not be easy. RU will be hard pressed to match this years 15th place finish. A big jump up from last year when we finished around 35, behind Rider and Princeton. Tourny scoring is a different world than dual matches.

Penn State 123 123 5 2 3 1
Oklahoma State 97.5 97.5 2 2 2 1 1
Ohio State 86 86 2 2 2
Iowa 81 81 3 3 1 2
Virginia Tech 81 81 2 1 3
Missouri 74.5 74.5 1 1 1 1 1
Cornell 67 67 2 2 1
Nebraska 57 57 1 1 1
Illinois 50.5 50.5 1 1 1 1
Michigan 50.5 50.5 1 1 1
North Carolina State 49 49 1 1 1 1
Iowa State 35 35 1 1 1
Oklahoma 33.5 33.5 1 1
Lehigh 31 31 1 2
Rutgers 30 30

We'll need Theobold, DelVecchio, Lewis, Gravina & some freshman to step-up big time & Ashnault to make finals or win it.

Is this Putts University your referring to? I heard their wrestlers pull some idiotic moves like the reverse pivot cranker.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Mcfadden, Jo Jo Smith, Myles Martin did fine as true freshman and we might need a true freshman to start if the coaches feel they are ready.

All-Americans by conference

31 – Big Ten

13 – Big 12

11 – ACC

10 – Mid-American, EIWA

4 – Pac-12

1 – EWL

Imart winning was unbelievable b/c coming into the finals, Nolf was just dominating everyone. I actually was pulling for Nickal. I know he was wrestling a NJ kid, but I don't care for those once they leave the state. He got lucky with that move, and was running away the rest of the way. I was pulling for McIntosh to win it all before he graduates. Cox was a better wrestler.

Was anyone else pulling for Gilman? I was. I know he talks trash but for strange reason, I wanted him to finish his career as a national champ.
