First round games - what a difference a week makes

In the 1st half McNaney and Wiernan were hot, McMeekin and Gianforcano we're not. Add in Zapptello and it's ballgame over. He picked it up in the 3rd, but that 1st half was the worst I've seen Gianforcano play.

In the 1st half the Michigan O stood around and watched Boehm. Went nowhere. The D was too passive

That was probably the worst half of Gianfacaro’s entire career.

If Weirman wins face offs like he did two years ago, that’s changes a lot of things for Maryland

Didn't Quint play for Hopkins? He seems to hate them almost as much as he hates us.

Albany 5 Notre Dame 4 at the half. Do you believe in miracles?

Great Danes played their tails off-----completely outplayed us in the 1st Half.

We play like that next weekend Gtown will beat us for the 2nd time.

Faces offs have an unbalanced impact on the game. It’s an issue IMO…

Way too much impact on these games and it’s a wild card position to recruit.

Average teams with a great face off performance become good / competitive (see Michigan)

Good teams with a bad face off performance become average (see Loyola)

You are not winning anything big without solid to good FOGO performance

im sure your son appreciates his dad calling his teammate "bad" on the internet

I am dreading the possibility of four ACC teams in the Final Four
It doesn't really bother me, if their teams earn it. But I'm not sure about Virginia beating Hopkins. The Cavaliers have shown some weaknesses in recent weeks that Hopkins could exploit.

Good luck to all teams. Play your best game...

UVa is susceptible to giving up a lot of goals. Their goalie had a serviceable game against St. Joe's but he's been spotty at best. When he's off, he's the worst goalie left in the tourney. It can get really bad.

Teams that can spin the ball like Hopkins did against them in their first meeting can take advantage of their questionable sliding. Lots of talent on the offensive side and in the middle but they can give up goals. It's going to be a challenge for Hopkins but if they can win faceoffs again, they have a good chance. Uva's fogo was out that first meeting which definitely had an impact at that position.

That was a great game. I forgot UVA didn’t have their FOGO.
