This makes no sense. If the investigation is to give reason for firing Flood, you can't fire Flood before the investigation is over. Otherwise the investigation is meaningless for that purpose.

I think the point is that we really don't need a new thread on the same topic from someone who really doesn't know much. I'll ask the OP this- if Rutgers is going through all these legal maneuvers to lay the groundwork for termination, why would they jump the gun and jeopardize their efforts? I tend to agree with vkj. Nothing happening until after the season.

I disagree that the investigation is about a buyout. Its about people finally paying attention to whispers going on for a few years now.
Rutgers will pay more for the investigation than they would buying out KF at full pay.

We'll aren't going for the hat trick. We already Fired a basketball HC for getting stuck in a snowstorm. Then fired his replacement for going to a baseball game without permission.

I believe Julie realizes you fire a HC like every other team in the country does it. Maybe then, unlike hoops, we won't have to hire this guy next as it may be the only person willing to apply for the job.

Flood's vintage team almost lost to Army in 2013. I could very well see another epic death struggle. Army ran the ball pretty good on Penn State.

No way that's right. There's so much wrong with it that the reasons are hard to enumerate.

And the only way that he's fired before the last game has ended is if the investigation uncovers something that truly requires immediate termination.

Waters wasn't canned, but resigned after the attempt to fire him failed to go the way it was planned (for cause) and he and RU reached a financial settlement on what RU owed for the rest of his contract .
Hill's for cause firing firing fizzled and RU had to pay a buyout.
Rice was fired for cause , but RU did pay buyout money ( believe half of what was owed).
Even if Rice was a dead on for cause fire, he received a buyout .

Football coaches have been fired with winning records, just not at RU.
Flood will be back unless the for cause clause can be used and as you can see that clause didn't work to well for the last two ADs that tried it.

Agree. All the other moderators have always been more or less neutral, and even if they have their own opinions on something they've kept it to themselves for the most part...unless specifically asked. Their main responsibilities have been to monitor the board, make sure things don't get too out of hand, and do troll cleaning when needed. Have never really seen one who consistently takes a definitive side, especially when it comes to an issue like the Flood situation.

If a person's simply a poster, taking sides is pretty much par for the course. -If you're going to be a moderator and can't resist doing that, then it's probably best to leave that job to somebody else.
