One of the biggest things the Floodies have argued for years is his Win/Loss record. "Oh, but look at his record - he can't be that bad!" Well, yes he can... once you get under the hood.

On paper, Flood seems to have a decent record of 26-21. Wow, 26 wins! But let's do some research and look into the quality of each win, because let's face it, if you beat an FCS level opponent, what does that really prove? So, we go to the RPI, which for anyone that doesn't know, ranks every team in the country by a comprehensive list of metrics.

Of his 26 wins, 24 had an RPI of 50 or higher. Furthermore, 18 of those 26 wins were over teams with an RPI ranking of 80 or higher. If you take out 2012, he's 17-17 and hasn't beaten a team with an RPI below 50. In 2013, we went to a bowl, but we didn't even beat one team with an RPI over 92! Overall, coach's average win has an RPI rank of #108.

Simply put, Kyle Flood has made his living by beating very bad teams, and the guy owes one hell of a gift basket to the scheduler. Below, the numbers speak for themselves.

We werent competitive in the BE or the AAC...why would we suddenly be a power in the B10...magic?

I wish you guys spent more time rooting for the team than belittling the coach....

Says the guy that has 4,311 messages... Hmm.

Took me literally all of 20 minutes. God forbid we actually put some thought/research into our discussions. ;)

Likewise, belittling the coach absolutely does not translate to the team. I feel bad for the team.

Case in point - Michigan. They sucked under Brady Hoke. Fans were crying forever to nix him, but admin wouldn't. Well, guess what... sure as hell, that team is much happier to be competitive and winning under a new coach. So would our team. Winning cures everything.

But, here IS the point. Even in the Big East/AAC, Schiano STILL beat a top 50 opponent every single year. Now that's not saying he's the best coach on earth, but he at least proved he could beat a competitive team.

Completely agree with this and I appreciate it when posters do. I feel like I've been seeing a little more of it lately with regards to different topics and I like it. I do it all the time in coaching threads because I like talking about that whether it pertains to us or not. It's not as if you're spending hours on it, it's quite easy if you can google search decently.

Is it better to just say Flood sucks, this sucks that sucks or reverse Flood is god, we're great etc...without any substance behind it.

If you want to rebut an assertion, come back with a thoughtful response and most reasonable people will always be open minded if there's merit.

If anyone can't handle facts so they start throws insults at the person who gave tgem the facts then it is 100% fact that they person is not only delusional but also has an agenda.
