CBI bracket is linked. Virtually all the Power 5 leftovers (including, I presume, Seton Hall) turned them down. The only P5 team in the 16-team field is 15-17 Colorado. Local notables include Rider, Stony Brook, and Hofstra.

One unique aspect of the CBI is that the final is a best of three series.

The 32-team CIT exists for the mid-low majors and has no P5's participating. Actually, it's pretty much just low majors. Like the NIT of old, the CIT does not use fixed brackets, instead they figure it out as they go along. Note that NJIT got a home game! Good for them.

Exactly. The lack of a real tv network sponsor makes it tough to sustain without schools paying to participate.

- CBS, TNT, TBS, Tru has the NCAA tourney
- ESPN has the NIT tourney
- Maybe Fox Sports can sponsor the CBI. The current tourney has CBS Sports for the finals only.

Nice to see Hofstra in the CBI and with a home game. I'll have to see if my students are aware of that. I've not heard them talking much about basketball this season. There was a time, when Jay Wright was still coach, that it created a buzz, which is difficult to do in the media vacuum that is LI. But not lately. Lacrosse is the biggest deal out there.

I love college basketball and this time of year and I have no issue with these tournaments existing. They were created to make money and if they are doing so, then more power to them. That being said, there isn't much in either tournament that would get me to watch.

Yup, I stand corrected.
I saw the article by a paper I didn't recognize and figured NSL/Advance didn't send anyone to NH - but they apparently couldn't even send anyone across town.
