Let’s assume for a minute that GS is the problem and not NIL $. The reality remains that GS is not going anywhere for a few years, so you have two options.
1) Continue our level of giving and further handcuff who you think is a bad coach by giving him bottom of the division NIL $ (thus ensuring the program is in a horrible spot and much less attractive to other candidates)
2) Increase NIL support and help offset perceived coaching deficiencies with better players, thus putting the program in a better spot now and if/when GS is gone.
Reality is, even if GS is as bad as people think, that’s even more reason to increase NIL $.
