At one point in time I hated that we got rid of the UCLAs of the world, but I started to grow into the idea of making a northeast schedule. From 2019 all the way to 2022 two out of our three OOC contests will be against NE teams.

For me, it was the mistaken belief that - by this time - we'd be a sustained national power looking for some matchups with national brands.

I'm optimistic for the future, but until we start contending for the B1G-E on an annual basis, I'd like to see us keep a steady rotation of Big East rejects and ACC laughers on the OOC schedule.

LOL! What? No no, no... The Pac-12 was part of a deal the the Big Ten was going to have with the Pac-12. Where each Big Ten team would schedule a Pac-12 team every season, but that failed apart. Traveling across the country was no fun for our players, so it was not worth the trouble to keep them on the schedule. It is all about scheduling as many local teams as possible now. This will be true even if we are winning 8-9 games a year. LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL..

Rutgers inked its deal with UCLA back in 2009. I'm not much of a Rutgers Football Historian, but I'm pretty sure Rutgers hadn't yet gotten an invitation to join to the Big Ten Conference in 2009.

As others have noted.. maybe we can get Syracuse to flip home/away between 2020 and 2021.. I know it will unbalance those years for both teams.. but it is worth it to be home on 9-11 2021.

Liberty hired a pretty good FB coach to lead it into the FBS , Hugh Freeze.
While at Ole Miss it was found out Hugh liked to call "escort" services.
He was given the choice either resign or be fired for violating Ole Miss' moral clause.
He resigned.
That came up during an NCAA investigation over the way Freeze ran the Mississippi FB program and payments to recruits. One admitted he took money from one of Freeze's assistants.

We should be at home on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11.We could have Gameday there and possibly a visit from the POTUS.
This crap again? Syracuse had a large number of alum lost on 9-11 as well. Clearly they should do something special for Rutgers families who lost people.. but it is a football game. Go to Manhattan if you like.. just stop bitchin' about this.

Reading this article on Hugh Freeze and Liberty University football. Noticed a scheduling angle — Liberty plays a home-and-home (2 games) with New Mexico State in the 2019 season. They also open hosting Syracuse. We should know something about Liberty right away. Freeze is a contemptible guy, but has won wherever he coaches.

Going fast and loose with the rules makes it easier to win, especially if you're a good coach as well.

Thirty-seven.

And Syracuse, actually in NY, lost 30. And whoever thinks that the POTUS is going to attend a football game at Rutgers, on 9/11 when there are 3 actual memorial sites to visit.. You've really lost touch with reality.

"... actually in NY" is an interesting reach.

Wish we have a home and home with USF And another one with UCF or FIU. Would give us a game in Florida every year and could help recruiting.

Also I live down here

Agree with you. USF, FAU, or FIU. We need to rebuild our recruting presence in south Florida.
Remember when GS had the Happy Holidays from Rutgers Football sign off of I-95 in Miami?
