Rutgers women's basketball (3-0) hosts Harvard (3-1) on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. to conclude a three-game home stand at the RAC.

The Scarlet Knights are seeking their third consecutive 4-0 start to a season.

I guess this is the game thread?

RU takes slim lead: 21 19 at 8:32 2Q after trailing 17 19 at end of 1Q.

RU dominating on the inside. HU leading from the perimeter. RU only one made 3-pt shot, HU only one made shot near the basket.

Arella breaks a bit of a shooting drought for the team after some back-and-forth TOs with a trey and gives RU a 12-point lead (34-22) closing in on the four-minute mark.

A quick swap of threes and RU is up 39 25 with just under two minutes in the half.

First half ends with RU leading 39-27.

No one for HU shooting better than 37.5%. Four players for RU shooting 50% or better.

Statistical highlights of the first half:

KSanders with four steals.
AGuirantes and JWallace on track for double-double (reb, pts).
**JWALLACE 5-5 fg**

Scarlet Knights continue to pull away, outscoring the Crimson 13-3 near the half-way point of the 3Q. RU 52 30 HU with five minutes to go.

What are the chances that KSanders gets a triple-double with assists, steals, and points? RU now has five players shooting 50% or better.

Third quarter ends, RU 63 35 HU. It is the largest lead of the game for RU.

FYI, Massey prediction for this game was RU 68 57 HU. Sonny Moore had it RU 83 63 HU.

Forgot, real-time RPI: RU 75 56 HU.

Okay, was just about to post an update but will not do it. Ugh, you memorialised my typing error.
Sorry - didn't want you talking with yourself. Of course, we who are sitting at a computer or smart phone have little impact on the game and whether she gets a triple double but it is the tradition to worry about that.
Go RU!

Thanks for the company.

Arella must be team leader, as she remains in the game with the four players who have played the least minutes today. Want Singleton and Migliore to score.

Will be a solid win, but not good numbers in 3-pt shooting and FT%.

RU 74 46 HU, final. Three Scarlet Knights with reb-pts double-doubles: Guirantes, Mack, and Wallace. Good second-half hustle from Mack. Sanders' final line:

FG FG% 3P FT Reb OReb DReb Ast TO Blk Stl PF Pts

26 7-10 70.0 0-3 0-1 3 0 3 7 3 0 6 2 14

Quick thoughts:

After a rocky first quarter, team seemed to up the level of intensity and wasn't a game from the mid point of the 2nd quarter on.

Jordan Wallace looks like a completely different player, had a great game today with a double double and scoring in a variety of ways.

KK Sanders had an exceptional game is the senior leader you want at PG.

Arella had a few go in and out on her, but she was a beast on the boards and still scored 19 pts. It's obvious she's worked on her 3-pt shooting.

After a quiet first half, Tekia Mack was a beast in the second, causing havoc on the press and always seeming to be at right place at right time.

Really nice to see Zippy out there looking relatively healthy, and to have the whole team available to play for the first time all year.

The FT shooting was atrocious, and the 3-pt shooting was off, but like to see 18 assists to only 11 tos (and 5 of those turnovers were in the first quarter alone).

They’ve a full week to prep for a big game at LSU. Next three games will be tough, would love to go 2-1.

Nice win for the women another solid team effort. It's surprising that players who haven't played together for very long seem to function very well together.

It's fun not having the nail-biter games that characterized most of our seasons. I hope this continues.

Anyone know where RU ranks in average margin of victory? Right now, if I counted correctly, we've outscored 4 opponents by 173 points, which is an average of 43 points per game. That's awesome! Very UConn-like as someone noted in another thread.

To answer my own question, I looked up the NCAA stats for women's bball and saw that RU was tied for 4th with Stanford going into today's game with a scoring margin of 49 points. So the average will drop a bit to 43 per game since we "only" won by 28 today but the ranking should remain pretty high. Also going into today's game, RU was 4th in fewest points allowed and 9th in scoring.

Why only 2-1? Why not 3-0?

With their play thus far, expectations are rising. Hopefully, their own expectations of themselves are also rising.
Would certainly hope for 3-0. And it is undeniably possible. 2-1 (depending on who the 1 is) would be acceptable.

LSU struggled with Tulane today. LSU is a mediocre team.

Vanderbilt has not been good in recent years. They haven't beaten anyone notable, but have won all their games except UConn. While I can't vouch for their exact level, I would think they are beatable.

If we play Georgia Tech, coached by our old friend Nell, well, it could be touchy. They absolutely pounded Georgia today. In Athens.

If, on the other hand, we play Seton Hall, that comes loaded with history. They have one loss at this point (Princeton) but quite a few games before they meet us.

So, I'm going to stick to what I said. We most certainly can win all 3 games, but one loss would not be a disaster.
