Terrible shooting in 1Q, picked up a bit in 2Q. Guirantes leads RU with 9 pts; Jeter leads Towson with 15. Looks like a point was taken away from Towson, now 26 32 RU.

A lot closer than I thought it would be at the half. Hope they come out in killer mode for the second half!.

Tied at 34 w 6;26 left in 3rd. Jeter is single handedly destroying RU , she now has 21 of Towson's 34 points and hardly missing. Nobody is on her it seems. RU continues to be cold.

Jeter from Towson has 23 points and the rest of players from both teams are shooting bricks.36-36 third quarter.

Middle of 3Q and RU can´t hang on to the ball. Towson ties at 34, goes ahead, RU ties at 36.

Now this would be a bad loss. Jeters a wrecking machine. Get it together Scarlet Knights.

Will someone who is at the game indicate whether all of the turnovers are from good defense by both teams or sloppy ball handling?

RU starts to pull away toward the end of 3Q, up 49 40 under a minute to go.

RU goes on a run at end of 3rd and lead 54 -40

Maelstrom Gilles led the way for RU, she has 15 points and 7 rebounds.

KK and Zippy having a bad second half with unforced turnovers. KK w 5 Turnovers and only 1 assist. Zippy w 5 turnovers and 1 assist.

RU very sloppy

Did the Scarlet Knights rub cooking oil on their hands? Turnovers are ridiculous.

Final score 67 53 RU. Bottom of the line-up in the game at the end.

Didn’t watch game but horrible day for the point guards KK and Zippy. 2 assists to 11 turnovers is inexcusable.

RU had 18 Turnovers and only 8 assists. Almost all attributable to our point guards. Got to get that fixed.

Giles and Wallace were the stars and T Baby and Guirantes always w big contributions. Today could have been Giles best game as a Scarlet Knight w 17 pts and 7 rebounds w a good shooting percentage.

RU should be 10-1 when they open up Big 10 play on Dec .28 vs Wisconsin.

shooting percentage overall and for 3 pointers very poor
21 second chance points Cannot count on so many second chances once we get to league play

Just keep winning. Rutgers will not be sneaking up on anyone, and each team will bring their A game. So, a win is a win at this part of the season.

94 Yes Get through the bad games. No A win is not a win.
but not to be considered a loss.
Winning bad or ugly is better than looking good losing.
I call every win a good one, just some don't look that good until the final score is official.

come on struggling to put away Towson..wtf

Towson was CAA champ last year and made the dance (losing to UConn in the first round). This year their OOC schedule has been almost all tough mid-major and P5 schools. Losses, yes, but battle-tested.

And I was blown away by Jeter, thought she was one of the best (CVS-style) guards I've seen on the floor of the RAC in years.

agree bac. As CVS said after the game:

"It was an ugly win," said head coach C. Vivian Stringer. "It was not consistent with how we've played this year. We give credit to Towson, that's a good team, but we didn't play Rutgers Basketball. Mael came through, hit a lot of shots and grabbed some important rebounds. We came through, and that's what this team is about."

I will say in other years this game might go down to the wire. I think this years team has learned to repel and play through some ugly games. Its all about winning

yes it is all about winning. CVS mentioned earlier that even when the competition was not at the highest levels earlier this year, she was happy the team played at a high level. this game, however, was a stinker.
