what it shows is that we have closed the gap with the cupcakes and beating them but we have not against league foes. Its still a 5 game improvement over last year already and maybe give them one or two more.
There is a reason I shouted down all those people who thought we could go from 7 wins to 16 wins in one season...and even I got fooled after the SHU game, reality is going from 7 wins to maybe 12 or 13 wins is improvement given the poor talent we have here
I am sorry the talent gap between PSU and msu isn't that large. It was more us than them
wow. I STERNLY disagree :flushed: LOL.I am sorry the talent gap between PSU and msu isn't that large. It was more us than them
I still think 4-5 wins can still happen. Have to keep opponents under 1 point per possession. We cant score 72+ so we have to dig in defensively
don't ever mention Penn State and Michigan State basketball in the same sentence
Penn State will likely be 13th in league and 4-14. Michigan State will be 13-5 and getting a 6 or 7 seed in the NCAA tourney.
Hustle and those things don't belong together
There is a world of combined difference between talent, coaching, and home/away. How can you say there is little difference between 6-12 and 11-7???I am sorry the talent gap between PSU and msu isn't that large. It was more us than them
5 game difference between the 2 in B1G. I take the under and I guess you'd take over
Got ya. No argument from me on the result of the passing, but the movement and the rotations are better (they were non-existent under Eddie). The FTs are mind-boggling, as are the misses with open threes. Even the layups. My hope is that these guys get angry about losing. Believe it or not, it is possible to flip a switch and say, fvck this, I'm going hard to the hole and hard after the ball, gonna pass the ball hard and I'm gonna run hard. They don't know the system well enough and I don't see a high-enough collective bball IQ. When you have a pass picked off at the top of the key, then are posterized after a two-on-one break the other way, guys like Thiam might decide to play hard and aggressive when they have the ball. And this applies to our guys with wide open looks under the rim. Getting angry can make you focus better. That's fine but I'm talking about making passes to open players at their feet, horrible closeouts. Missed FTs and missing tons of two-foot shots at the basket. Def agree with you that the Jordan era was horseshit but I still want to see team improvement since the opener, and right now, I don't.
PSU might do better than 4 wins. They have talent, and the question will be how quickly they come together and if their coach knows what to do in game situations. But yo are spot on with MSU. I knew they were a lot better than their start, and was shocked the line was only -13 tonight.Penn State will likely be 13th in league and 4-14. Michigan State will be 13-5 and getting a 6 or 7 seed in the NCAA tourney.

Not really. Not compared to the last few seasons. Not compared to the other day. Lots of effort out there - again - tonight.
MSU will probably be favored by 12 and win by 18.Penn State playing Michigan state at the Palestra this saturday
