Considering the Big Ten ranked team curse, which struck again tonight, I’d say today’s RU game was a smashing success.

B1G

Northwestern 75 #25 Indiana 69 – I think this ought to finally bump the Hoosiers from the top 25

Other RU opponents

Albany 63 Massachusetts Lowell 56 OT – Great Danes came back from down 10 at the half
#1 Notre Dame 80 Virginia Tech 51 – Shepard had 20 and 11 for the Irish

Other ranked teams

#2 Connecticut 75 Tulane 33 – Walker led the Huskies with 34
#2 Baylor 94 Kansas 68 – Jayhawks actually won the 3rd quarter
Kansas State 87 #11 Texas 69 – kind of a bad loss for the Longhorns
West Virginia 73 #18 Iowa State 64 – not quite as bad a loss for the Cyclones

Also – A-10 night

George Mason 70 Massachusetts 52 – kind of an upset
Dayton 62 St. Bonaventure 49 – not an upset
George Washington 67 La Salle 59 – Colonials looking better in conference play
Davidson 78 Richmond 55 – Wildcats tied with VCU atop A-10 standings
Duquesne 81 St. Joseph’s 73 – Hawks had slim halftime lead
Virginia Commonwealth 47 Fordham 44 – Rams overcame 13 point halftime deficit
Rhode Island 68 St. Louis 56 – Billikens never quite got in gear

Today:

B1G: 0-0
Other RU opponents: 1-1

Year to date:

B1G: 109-37
RU opponents: 91-67

There have been no palindromic scores in 46 games completed so far today. (Sadly, we just missed an 83-38 score.) There have been 24 palindromic scores in 2,788 games so far this year. It’s been four days since the last palindromic score.

"#2 Connecticut 75 Tulane 33 – Walker led the Huskies with 34"

So, Megan Walker outscored the whole Tulane team. UCONN has to get out of the AAC. It's just silly now.

Can UConn just split its affiliations by sport? Do you have to be a Catholic-affiliated college to be in the Big East; that's the best fit?

Catholicism not required, there is one school that is not - Butler, i think.
