Gavin Griffiths Highlights

gun sniper GIF

Hodgson and Billett plus Earl for the final shot when the game was on the line.
Remember when Earl hit that crazy shot to beat St. John’s at MSG? The ball hit the rim and it seemed like it went up 5 feet before dropping in?

When he arrives Gavin will be the most polished freshman player Rutgers has had in decades. It’s exciting to have him on board.

Pfffff. I mean. This is the sniper we have wanted forever. Kid has no quit in him either.

Who is this man predicting that Gavin will be a possible 1-and-done or 2-and-done player for Rutgers?! Oh my.

It makes sense.
I've posted it before - if GG is all people are predicting as a freshman (instant impact and All-Big Ten Freshman Team) then it's a good chance he is only here 1 or 2 years.

4 of 5 guys on the Big All-Freshman team left for the NBA this year.

2022 ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

Max Christie, Michigan State
Malaki Branham, Ohio State
Bryce McGowens, Nebraska
Chucky Hepburn, Wisconsin

With their NBA draft results:
Diabate - 43rd overall
Christie - 35th overall
Branham - 20th overall
McGowans - 40th overall
Hepburn - didn't declare (maybe because of injury during NCAA tournament?)

So even with a 2nd round grade, multiple guys stayed in and got drafted.
This is the new normal - good players declare early and often.

If you go back to the previous year - all FR team - it tells a different story:
Andre Curbelo, Illinois - 2 years at Illinois - transferred to St John's
Keegan Murray, Iowa - stayed another year to become the #4 pick
Hunter Dickinson, Michigan - returning for Junior year
Zach Edey, Purdue - returning for Junior year
Jaden Ivey, Purdue - stayed another year to become the #5 pick
