Geo Baker Rookie of the Year

Well deserved, just the start of accolades for this kid.

Hes a great ambassador and model of what hard work can get you. Pike gave him partial full keys to the kingdom and he did his best.

Congrats!

Geo Baker was named all metro Rookie of the Year.

Corey Sanders was named second team all metro.

Congrats to both.

Folks have said Geo was underrated as a recruit, which is true. But I will go farther and say that Geo played his freshman year as a 4 star recruit. Can’t wait for his further development, and to see more Pikiell recruits play for us.

I am really interested in seeing Caleb McConnell play. He brings an interesting skill set, I can see him getting a lot of playing time as lead guard. I like what I have seen in highlights and game video.

Geo will have a great chance at the NBA if his progression stays on track

Did you by any chance see the article by Bobby Deren on Geo Baker as PG?

It was a well written article, but the title of it and the content did not exactly match up.

I have the same enthusiasm for McConnell. I think his shooting can translate to the next level. What steers me in this thought is the length of his arms and ability to shoot the ball well beyond the 3 pt line.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I like coach's confidence in giving the ball to Geo to run the show. I wish I was as confident. But I am sure he knows better than me. I like Geo more off the ball to be the "scorer" that I think he can be. I hope giving him the extra responsibility as the lead guard does not ware him out.

I was thinking more of Caleb at the point and Geo as the SG. Guess we will see. I like Caleb's floor game at the point more.

The title made it seem like he had the spot locked down, when all the comments were pointing that the coach was confident in him to handle the ball at moments, etc.

I also like McConnell better at point. Well see what happens. Next year will be fun!
