Get Les Miles' agent on the horn!

want no part of him, although it's likely he'd punch Politi's lights out. On second thought....

But relax folks we still have a head coach . Kyle flood is a proven winner and will take this program to great heights . We don't need a coach like les miles

I love the thought but come on people. Les Miles is going to take $2.5 million to coach here? There are other schools with openings that would throw more cash at him.

I've seen multiple posters calling for Al Golden (decent recruiter/questionable game day coach), but people don't want Les Miles (great recruiter/decent game day coach)?

Regardless, this is Rutgers. If Flood gets fired, they'll likely throw a couple lowball offers at a couple coaches before settling on a cheap coordinator.

Seriously, if some people here wouldn't be happy with him, then clearly they wouldn't be happy with anyone.

He was getting paid $4.3 million a year, which is just a hair over twice what GS was getting paid here. Highly unlikely we could come up with that kind of cash from our donors.

Who wouldn't want him here? I haven't seen that, maybe I missed it. The only thing I saw was he's never coming here and realistically that's probably true. Outside of that I haven't seen anyone say much about him. Edit: my mistake I see some posts above. I was thinking about the other thread.

Richt and Miles both could be available this offseason. I think it's just as likely they take the season off as it is they take another job next year.

At age 62, he might make that kind of transitional coach that could see us through to more money, if we could generate the funds to hire him in the first place. One of his former assistants, Todd Monken, would make a pretty good hire as well.

$10M a year HC and staff.... you guys crack me up.

Maryland may have found their coach though....
Damn, UA university is going to throw the money at him your right. This is exactly the coach they need to show case their new crazy uniform designs.

During our last coaching search we were rejected by the guys like Christobal and Addazio. That was with a talented roster left behind by Schiano. Now with the disaster that Flood is leaving behind, there is no chance that Les Miles with no ties to NJ and Rutgers would come here at the age of 62. Our best hope is Al Golden or an up and coming coach. In fact I don't think Julie would even approach him.

Why do people always insist on talking about the most high priced, established coaches coming here? Even most blue chip programs reach into lower ranks for coaches.

Not specific to Miles but just came across this article from last year about coaches and who they talk to and share with and try to learn from. It's good to have a coach with a nice network of colleagues to talk shop with and possibly build a staff from if ever necessary as well. Made me think about Flood and who is talking with him or learning from him for that matter.

Because we're Rutgers and it's going too take a coach like this to get us where we want to be in the B1G. It's time to sack up and pay the big bucks for a coach. The blue chip programs can go and do that because they have the money to can the coach and move on no problem of it doesn't work out. Not to mention the blue chip programs have recuits Lining up wanting to play for some of the most storied programs in the country. If Rutgers has any type of balls they will offer miles a contract get the donors on the phone now and tell them we're ready to go big time! It's going to take a coach like miles to get it done at Rutgers or a big name coach.

It's not going to happen because he'd never want to come here, but the admin not even exploring it because he'd be too expensive should in no way be a reason. He's not even Herman or Fuentes, he's as close to a no-brainer as you can get. Every seat would be sold out and donations would skyrocket next year. His salary would pay for itself in short order.

Come on bro Rutgers fans are looking for free parking and seats for 20 bucks. This is Rutgers we don't donate we just bitch all day and night. Les miles would make us so legit but here we don't have the commitment where it counts. Money talks and bullshat walks.

He is only 110–32 at LSU with 2 conference titles and a National Championship during his time at LSU. Clearly, not good enough for Rutgers. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Pretty sure he has had something like 7 of LSU's 13, or 15, of their all-time 10+ win seasons.

We weren't in the Big Ten when we did our last coaching search. That makes a big difference.

He'll probably demand a 5 year contract at 3.75 million per year. In addition, he will probably pick and choose his OC/DC 1 million.

He's currently making 4.25 million per year. To me he's overpaid considering his results from the past couple of years.
