He's also a former VP of Player Personnel/GM for the Cowboys and a long time executive/consultant for the NFL, as well as analyst for CBS Sports and NFL.com for the draft every year.He picks which players to invite to the NFL draft. He is as connected as you can get in football.
They're trying to pull the generation card, that's all. Some folks aren't as young as they think they still are. Son of Red's post was funny though! Most people who are knowledgeable about pro football have heard of Gil Brandt. He's also a former VP of Player Personnel/GM for the Cowboys and a long time executive/consultant for the NFL, as well as analyst for CBS Sports and NFL.com for the draft every year.
Shocked that some of you never heard of him.
But you heard of him...Thought he died around 15 years ago.
?? Never heard of him ?? Gil Brandt is probably the most respected and innovative talent evaluator / executive in NFL history.
But you heard of him...
Gil Brandt is a Pro Football legend from a few years back. When he was involved with the USFL, I hand wrote him a letter trying to get a job right out of college. He hand wrote me back a nice , long letter to stay in touch and how to network, etc. I wound up going into training to take my Series VII exam (stockbroker), got it and went to work for a boiler room, lol. Bad mistake, should have taken Gil's advice, lol
thats a cool story abro. years ago, after graduating from rutgers, i wrote a letter to the President of the New Jersey Nets asking him for a job, and he wrote back offering me a job selling tickets, but warning that the hours were long, etc. though i didn't take it, was also appreciative of the offer.
Is he the salesman from the Simpsons?I had to look up "Gil Brandt."
