See that's where you're wrong. Besides Waters and before the stupid naked FT's under Bannon, the AD's at Rutgers were incompetent when it comes to the BB program and they were cheap. They hired on the cheap. They didn't give a crap about the product on the court or the facilities and after 25 years of this, this proverbial $hit has hit the fan. It's only because we're in the B1G that the pressure is on catch up and become a modicum of mediocrity just to compete in the B1G. Hobbs, was brought in to stop the in-fighting between those that liked Julie and those that never gave Julie a chance because they were loyal to TP, who under his guidance helped ruin men's BB even more than Uncle Bob and Gruninger and that's difficult to even believe.
To ameliorate the TP crowd vs. the Julie crowd, Barchi actually did something intelligent regarding RU sports---he actually brought in a top flight guy who knows his way around Jersey politics and how to fund raise. Hobbs was brought in to change the losing culture of sports at Rutgers for good. If EJ was really a good college BB coach, we wouldn't be dealing with these blowouts like we've seen, not just this season (excuses with the injuries) but when he actually had some good players here. Eddie has proven to be a terrible fit for Rutgers or IMO any college BB program. So after 25 years of this garbage I believe Hobbs will make the right hire; get the practice facilities built; and redo the RAC to make Rutgers BB relevant again. Sorry, but Rutgers is NOT a "mid major" program. We are part of one of the best if not the best Power5 conferences in college sports. We need to start acting like it. And after Eddie is gone we will bring in someone who knows how to teach the kids, recruit the kids, and get the RAC back to where it once was---one of the most feared places to play in all of college BB. So, Eddie doesn't need another year. Our program is destroyed. We need to thank him and move on.
