Gotterup Transfer

Thanks - but it’s such an individual game - will this help making the tour based on affiliation?

Don’t know much about college golf - hate to lose a player - but is the coaching and/or competition better in the B12?

@knightfan7
Oklahoma lost to Pepperdine 3 matches to 2 in the NCAA Championship Final last month. Not counting the NCAA's OU played in 11 Tourneys with 4 Firsts. 4 Second, and 3 Third Place finishes.

I doubt there are many programs that could help him develop more. In the same class as Texas, Okie St, Pepperdine, Illinois, and Florida. Oklahoma plays a much better schedule. He'll be playing with and against many of the best college players in the country on a weekly basis. Being they were runner up I assume they'll be invited to play in the East Lake Cup which pits the best 4 Men's and Women's teams in what is considered the most prestigeous Tourney other than the NCAA Finals.

Oklahoma's had 61 All-Americans, 17 Conference Titles, were 2017 National Champs and 2021 National Runner Up.

Spring and Fall 2020 were lost seasons and he never quite regained the consistent level of play this Spring. Hate to see him go but it's for the best if he has hopes of playing professionally.

Oklahoma's not alone as many schools have similar facilities. In the B1G Illinois and OSU are probably the best. How does RU compete with this......

They also have an outstanding course on campus.

Btw, in the tourney the announcement mentions, Chris is currently T6, 3 strokes off the lead.

The OU practice facilities legit look like a country club. They're absolutely gorgeous.

BTW, he finished an impressive T7 in the Sunnyhanna Invitational over the weekend, ahead of one of his future OU teammates.

This week he's playing in the Northeast Amateur, paired day 1 and 2 with the WCC Player of the Year and star of National Champion Pepperdine, Dylan Menante. RU Soph Xavier Marcoux is also in the field.

RU Present and former at the Northeast Amateur...

After 1 Round Gotterup is T3 at -2. Leader is -6

RU Soph Xavier Marcoux is T23 at +1. He started off a bit rough but played the last 12 or so holes at -1.

To finish this up, after both making the 36 hole cut....

Chris Gotterup went -1 in the 3rd and a final round +4, finishing T24 (+1)

Current RU team member Xavier Marcoux went +1 and -3 in the final 36 to finish T33 (+3)
