I don’t think it’s going to divide the fanbase . I am one of the guys that was thrilled with schiano coming back . Now, I realize I may have been wrong and seldom am I ever wrong with rutgers coaches.
But I am willing to give schiano another year . Might not be willing to give him much more. I think this is how most schiano and rutgers fans feel

Feel year 4 team must show it is competitive enough in the B1G and improving enough to expect a winner in year 5.Might not have a winning conference record, but show it can play on an equal bases with the middle of pack and not have to fight trying to stay out of the B1GE basement .

Yes it has and year 3 of return to respectability didn't go too well after year two hinted at future sucess and even backed into playing a bowl game based on academics , but with enough wins to qualify under a lower bar set .
Consider year 3 being a step backwards and year 4 will be the return to moving upwards in the respect game and a season that shows hope for the future, something that year 3 took away .
My opinion
negativity takes the fun out of fanhood , while looking at what can go right makes for the type of positive attitude that makes being a fan more enjoyable
Rutgers did have enough bad times since it went big time that makes being depressed easy when things aren't going well.
But thereis hope that Greg2 can do the same as he did as Greg1 and make RU FB competitive enough to be a constantly playing in the bowl season.

We're in the same conference but we are not really in the same league as OSU, Michigan or even PSU from a Football historical performance or financial perspective or even in terms of fanbase support. From an athletics benefactor/monetary standpoint, we are not even close to Maryland.

But gradually improved after Greg1 took over and became a respectable part of BE Town
