Half-way through B10 Season: A Quick Stats Overview

Nine games into B10 season, and I think we'd almost all agree it's gone about as well as any of us could have dreamed. The team is 8-1, in first place, and for the most part, showing that they are learning from their mistakes and continuing to improve.

Of RU's 9 conference games, 5 have been on the road (4-1) and 4 have been at home (4-0). The combined conference record of our opponents in the first 9 games was: 42-39.

Of RU's 9 remaining games, 5 will be at home, and 4 will be on the road. The combined conference record of our opponents (Indiana x2, MN x2, OSU x2, Wisconsin, Maryland, Michigan) is 34-47.

Looking just at conference stats, RU is tied for 6th in ppg (66.8); second in scoring defense (60.1). The team is ranked first in free throw percentage (!!) and steals per game. They are 6th in 3-pt FG made per game (6.1) and 5th in 3-pt % (.350). We are terrible in 3-pt defense percentage (13th--.386%). They are tied for 3rd in apg, second in turnover margin, and 3rd in A/TO ratio.

On conference individual stats, Stasha is 11th in ppg at 13.9ppg 16th in rpg at 6.2, 6th in Fg% at 52.3%, 4th in FT% at 82.1%, and is also ranked in spg and bpg. CC is FIRST in apg at 7apg and first in steals at 3spg.

I’m okay with giving up the three this year. For some reason it just doesn’t seem to faze this team, and our inside out game and inside defense have been strong enough to carry us thus far. I think the deeper squad with overall better performance is helping us this year, especially considering it feels like offense almost carries us this year. If we can hit our shots we are seemingly unstoppable. Defense obviously has been strong but it feels like we haven’t even had to play 55 hard like the teams of old on last 5 minutes of a game. Keep doing what we are doing. This team is on fire

Isn't the strategy to give them the three but deny them the two? I hate those three foul shots.

When we don't have foul issues, I'd like to see the 55 more to help put teams away. This team on the whole has far exceeded my expectations.
