Here's the deal

Whew, I know some here like Schiano and some still like Golden despite Miami but neither are high on my list. I so badly want someone who will bring some type of spread offense here with just some semblance of a defense.
You and me both. I sent you a message.

If we can get to 6-8 wins in the B1G East with a coach making 1.2M we should be doing cartwheels.

wow !!! Rutgers must be the only fanbase ever that has fans not only satisfied with 6-6, but think we should be doing cartwheels with excitement

Agree...Cuse fans would never set such lofty goals.

Never said I was happy in absolute terms. However, if we are only going to pay for a HC worth 1.2M in a division that includes UM, MD and JH then yes we should be thankful to make a bowl every year.

You're being deliberately myopic.

Everyone and their mother knows Schiano and Golden would want to coach at RU. Schiano was here, and let's be honest, Golden is looking at likely going to be an assistant or a non P5 job so why would he not be interested.

I have said that repeatedly especially in regards to Schiano- hello, he coached here before and now, though JH/Barchi whiners will say otherwise, the job is easier with the B1G affiliation. Not to mention, everyone knows Greg Brown is a huge Schiano fan, huge donor, and on the BOG.

However, I'll believe anything, and so should you, or anyone, once is ink is to paper.

Now as to earlier point. Schiano is better than Flood in every single way- recruiting, defense, specials, off the field, even yes offense. I guarantee if you took a poll of this board and asked a binary- Schiano or Flood, Schiano is going to run away with 80%+ off the vote.

Flood had one 8 win season in a year where Michigan was down and our OOC was pretty meh (only winning team being Navy who we scraped past). Flood is on the verge of having 2 of the past 3 seasons being losing ones. Since 2005, Schiano had one losing season- when EL was paralyzed.

Second of all, Schiano ran a clean program. Maybe irrelevant to some very relevant to some including myself.

Schiano would be way, way better here than Flood.

Golden's record is comparable to Flood's. I really don't like Golden as a person from what I know of him. He didn't really set Miami back though from where it was while Flood has taken us several steps back while we also changed conferences and should have had lights out recruiting even if not instant success.

One reason why I actually believe you somewhat re: Schiano is I notice that you and some of your friends have been ramping up the Schiano attacks. Not a battle you guys are going to win. Is Schiano the best choice? Well we'd have to know the rest, but he is better than Flood.

Schiano has never been a B1G HC before, but we do know he didn't veer from off field scandal to off field scandal while beating 4 winning teams in 4 years.

"Middle of pack" in B1G East is ahead of UMD and UI. Oh, wait, we're there already.
