This deal is for a Shi load of money. Top 5 in FBS!
That's all that matters they could call it the Crap Stadium for all I care as long as it's worth a shi* ton of money. We just tripled our money. That's all that matters. Now if we ever get competitive it's time to renegotiate that Adidas contract that pays us a used stick of chewing gum. Name? Who gives a SHI*.

When I worked in the Kearny Shop-Rite in the late 60's while going to high school, the store had its name lit up in large letters visible all the way to Route 21.
One night, some of my co-workers tried to get atop the roof and remove the plugs from some of the individual letters:The O,the P, the hyphen, the R,and the E.

Unfortunately, they were unable to do so.

SIEMENS has a building in our office park with the company name in giant illuminated letters across the top of the building. The "I" was out for 2-3 weeks. I laughed out loud like Beavis an Butthead every evening I left the office.

Oh Lord. Welcome to the $hit House. Could this be anymore Rutgers? You can’t make this stuff up...I literally blurted out laughing. Money’s good though.

Maybe next time it will be Latrine?

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 19, 2019) – The Rutgers Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and SHI International Corp. today announced a multi-year partnership, making the IT solutions provider the Official Naming Rights Partner of Rutgers Stadium. The agreement will name the 52,454-seat venue, which serves as home to Rutgers football and men’s and women’s lacrosse, as SHI Stadium.

Rutgers will host its first sporting event at the new SHI Stadium on Friday, Aug. 30, when the Scarlet Knights celebrate its history as the Birthplace of College Football and the sport’s 150th anniversary.

“This partnership formalizes the strong bond that has existed between Rutgers and SHI for almost 30 years,” said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI International. “Nearly 350 Rutgers alumni currently work at SHI, and more of our employees earned their degree at Rutgers than any other single college or university. With deep roots in New Jersey and influence felt around the globe, both SHI and Rutgers share a history, culture, and commitment to excellence that will make this partnership especially rewarding.”

“As the State University of New Jersey, we are thrilled to partner with SHI,” said Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs. “Headquartered right here in Somerset, SHI proudly embraces its strong Rutgers ties. As we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of college football here at the Birthplace, we are delighted to partner with a company that shares in our Relentless Pursuit of Excellence. This partnership will positively impact athletics, the university and the New Jersey community.”

As part of the agreement, SHI (pronounced using the initials S H I) will enjoy significant brand exposure through signage in and around the stadium, including exterior stadium signage, scoreboard signage, campus directional signage and logo placement on the field. Additionally, SHI will receive promotion through a variety of print, digital, radio and television assets.

Rutgers, which played the first college football game in New Brunswick in 1869, began playing in Piscataway at the "Old" Rutgers Stadium in 1938. Rutgers Stadium was then built on the site of the "Old" Rutgers Stadium as a 41,500-seat venue in 1994. The stadium was again expanded in 2009 to its current seating capacity of 52,454.

SHI International Corp., a Somerset-based company, is a global provider of technology solutions and products with over 20,000 customers in the United States. Founded in 1989, SHI is the largest minority and woman-owned business enterprise in the country. From software and hardware procurement to deployment planning, configuration, data center optimization, IT asset management and cloud computing, SHI offers custom IT solutions for every aspect of the business environment.
You can't make this SHI up!?!?!?!?!

The football stadium at Rowan University is officially named "Coach Richard Wackar Stadium." Wackar was named on some early "All Rutgers" football teams when he played here from 1946-50.

And, yes, when he was a student, he went by "Dick."

They get some excited crowds at Dick Wackar Stadium.

That's Rowan U Stadium, not Rider. Dick Waacker Stadium, lol

Actually I think the reverse. If you’re a large cap/mega cap company why spend money when you’re already widely known unless you’re introducing some new product or something.

It makes sense for lesser known companies to get their name out there. I never understand the spend on Super Bowl ads or naming rights etc for huge companies.
I think you're 100% correct. Go with an unknown company. With a name that will get a lot of comments. Believe me Shi t stadium
will have every one's attention and draw so many one liners. Like if we win a game, it could be said, "Boy did they get SHI- IT on or what? " Rutgers only Rutgers! Unfriggin believable.

So our football program has been SHI for almost 30 years.

Imagine that company becomes famous from the RU advertisement.
We could be known as the birth place of the Shi house.
